Physical Media isn't dying! No better way to kick off the summer than going out for a Movie Hunt at my local Walmarts. #dvd #bluraycollection #physicalmedia #walmart
Physical media forever Let’s keep buying cds 💿 DVDs and blue rays and 4ks Let the stupid streamers aren’t music all their damn lives wasting their money to not own Anything 😅😅😅😅 we’ll see how much more streaming will last make people realize sooner or later owning is better than renting 😅
The irony of it is that Best Buy stopped selling physical media so I’ve been getting them online. Dvds, cds, on Ebay and Walmart.com. But do go to physical stores like Walmart and Target for them too.
Wish i could agree with you. But I'm a old geezer collector. Been collecting media since the VHS/laserdisc days of the 80's. And most box stores have either already stopped carrying physical media or have severely cut back on it. My local stores definitely have. My target stopped selling DVDs and Blu Rays this spring. And my local Walmarts have shrunk their media section down to less than 10% of what is was back around 2012. And the stuff we see as evident in your video. Is mainstream/Collector's editions and box sets of popular titles. Stuff they know they have a chance of selling. You aren't going to find recent titles of movies unless they were big box office hit types. Sadly i believe within the next few years physical media will be only available online or in boutique shops.
Thats so cool that you have been collecting physical media for so long! I think online is where it's end up, but you never know. I never thought I would see vinyl records for sale at Walmart & Target, but here we are
@@TheDVDCollector Yeah vinyl can be found at Walmart. But if DVDs/Blu Rays stick around. That's what you will see at Walmart and target. Just a small tiny section. Surprised Walmart still sells vinyl. For at least me I've only seen one person in the last 5 years even look through the vinyl section at Walmart. My local Walmarts are now purging their videos game sections out. I miss how I could visit a best buy / Circuit City or Sam Goody and look at thousands of different titles. I hate buying online. I only did that when the prices were way too good to pass up.
I've noticed this too. Ever since Best Buy got out, Target and Walmart have scaled down to about 10% of what it once was. Walmart still carries it but they're trying to shift to being 99% online. They're the only place I buy through anymore since Amazon has been so bad at delivering things on time for me. You order something for release-day delivery and most times you get it a few days to one week late. Walmart can actually deliver on time. As far as collector's editions, those will always be around. I'm more concerned about players disappearing and you'll be left with buying used stuff or buying expensive players through boutique labels. They haven't released a new player since like 2018. I am afraid you are right that we may see this go away nearly entirely within the next 5 years. It will be like how CDs and vinyl are.
It will never die off completely, but you cannot deny it is already one foot in the grave. I think we're starting to see it as no new players have come out for the last 6 years. It will probably be like how CDs are. They will still be made but in lower numbers and you'll only be able to by used cheap players or expensive boutique players.
They did where I live. They had some endcaps wit marked down prices. Some were not marked down at the store, but when I scanned the barcodes with my Walmart app they showed the sale price.

I prefer the look of a Dvd i hate the blue line across the artwork that cuts it off just to write blu ray😅 also the blue case are hideous so if i really love a movie i buy the dvd and if i find the blu ray for cheap i swap out the disc 😂 Anyways thanks for showing us whats new in walmart 😊
