separate, they use different approaches for the patient to reach their goals. To help understand think PT- gross motor skills, biomechanical approach vs OT- fine motor skills, biopsychosocial approach. A PT can't be an OT or vice versa they both perform separate important roles to help the patient
@@krystalrussell4350 do you mean writing skills? Possibly, I can't say for certain about the diagnosis aspect but yes OTs work with patients to learn/relearn handwriting by strengthening their muscles, working on their grip, hand eye coordination etc..
Lots of people major in kinesiology or a health science major. However, theres not a specific major that is needed, and as long as you fit in the pre-reqs, you can major in anything. (Which is what I am doing, I am getting my pre-reqs as an Environmental Anthropology major, kinda unrelated but its just another of my many passions)
