I actually have this app and view it periodically. The scale for a planck length to say a grain of rice is absolutely mind boggling. It’s truly terrifying, awe inspiring, and amazing all wrapped into one. The sheer scale and size of mega clusters to quantum foam.

I’m curious what about it you find scary The fact that we’re simultaneously enormous and infinitesimal?
@reeverfalls2069
@reeverfalls2069 8 месяцев назад
@@oberonpanopticon Mostly the fact that we still don't have all of the answers or even close to it. The fact that a planck length is smaller to us than we are to the size of the observable universe inflicts feelings of dread and amazement. I honestly can't pinpoint why this topic makes me feel uneasy.

In general, you would have to say that nothing has a certain size. Our entire matter basically consists of energy fields. Say everything ourselves, we do not consist of matter of solid particle size but only of energy fields with defined spheres of influence.

Parsec wasn't incorrectly used in start wars. Han flew through a dangerous section of space everyone else would usually fly around. He took a short cut which made the total distance of the flight shorter.

It's really difficult to think of these particle as 'point like'. I understand the principle of it on paper but it's not something I can imagine as a physical thing. It's basically an imaginary vibrating nothingness that reveals itself after we piss it off by shooting it with energy... Physics is weird.

I can't belive no one else is talking about this, how in the f*ck is a neutrino visble to the naked eye???? It's a particle that's supposed to be milions of times smaller than a y other elemanary particle and you can f*cking see with your own eye???? First of all how can elementary particles change in size depending on how much energy they have and why would lower-energy ones have bigger sizes? Also, what would you even see? Just a particle or it's wave function? Wouldn't having elementary particles this big and easily observable be the key to hundreds of teh most difficult problems in physics? I don't know it's just so unfathomably crazy
@stevenwilgus5422
@stevenwilgus5422 Год назад
There is no size to infinity. The term "universe" is a misnomer from the outset. late Middle English: from Old French univers or Latin universum, neuter of universus ‘combined into one, whole’, from uni- ‘one’ + versus ‘turned’ (past participle of vertere ).

Now imagine the entirety of the unobservable universe is just a planck in comparison to everything else that is so much larger. Humans believe that what they see is how it’s like everywhere else for an undiscernable amount of length due to the cosmic microwave or the other. And it just goes on and on and on- does this concept have a name? Because it’s something someone has at least thought of once in their lives.

Problem with your race. From an alternative point of reference maybe that's what you notice but from the omg particles point of reference light is moving. 299 792 458 m / s away from it. So a person at rest or traveling almost light speed notice the light is the exact same distance away from them in the same time. You never went anywhere in comparison. For example at rest or almost the speed of light the light will be. 9.46 trillion kilometers, or 5.88 trillion miles away from you or 1 light year away in one year. From the omg particle in a one year race from it's point of reference the light is that distance ahead. Including that far ahead of the person at rest even if you snap shotted this as you passed the person at rest. But from the person at rest point of reference we will see this different and maybe then does light barely win. Omg particle has mass is why. Also was probably a proton an article i read is and protons have mass. So mass reaches near infinity when very close to light speed.
