It occurs to me as I watch this content that although the videos in this series are labeled under the name: FreePilotTraining. I would point out to anyone contemplating watching these to keep them close, watch them as often as necessary, and don't let the word free influence how you perceive the importance of the information contained within, because in that regard the word "priceless" seems much more appropriate.

Former USAF enlisted 05 to 09 out of high school. I used to look up to AF pilots like rockstars back then, even though I wasn't particularly interested in aviation. Now I'm working through my licenses and seeing an AF pilot with this much GA passion and knowledge means so much dude. Thank you for all of this.

Hey Josh, just wanted to let you know that I just passed my Private Pilot checkride on Saturday, and you definitely deserve some credit fort that! Your videos hav been a huge help to me (especially all your videos on the private pilot maneuvers). I really appreciate how in depth you go on some topics that other instructors just glaze over and repeat the facts bar for bar from the PHAK or FARAIM. You actually go into detail and talk about the WHY behind everything...and that helps a lot for an inquisitive mind like mine. Anyway, thanks again for everything you do. Keep it up brother

Great channel, thanks for sharing! In something like 75% of all crash videos start out with "the captain was a very experienced pilot with thousands of hours...". No one can ever convince me they're above error, mistake, brain fart or whatever you call it. One time I reversed the hot and cold lines on a customers shower but swore I had double checked... it happened despite "years of experience". Since im not bullet proof (anymore) I choose to fly in simulators because I know my mental limits. Plus when i crash, i just hit RESET. ...You forgot to cover a VERY IMPORTANT FACT "Remember everyone > Aircraft don't have Horns... " cheers

Also, if you're involved in a near collision, fill out and submit NASA Form 277 as soon as you can. It serves two purposes: (1) it may help identify a systemic problem with a particular area of airspace and (2) it might keep you out of trouble. The FAA tends to look favorably upon people who self-report errors.

Question for you Josh. If I have a Canadian pilot license with 350 hours pic and night endorsement. And an expired medical, and I have not flown since 2015. And I move to Florida now. What would be my best plan to get back current/ legal to fly? I guess is not the same in the USA as it is in Canada?
@FreePilotTraining
@FreePilotTraining 9 месяцев назад
To be honest, im not very familiar with out of country certificates. Based on my understanding, all you need is a 3rd class medical and you are good to go. Obviously you need your three takeoffs and landings, but I think everything else is good. Might check the FAAs website for more information

Actually flying at night is a really dumb thing and certainly generally aviation pilots flying single engine aircraft shouldn't do it. I'm a pilot and a mechanic and there's just not enough reliability at these aircraft engines to justify flying at night whatsoever. Also there's a lack of qualified mechanics to work on these airplanes so flying at night is not recommended no matter how good your eyesight is.
@FreePilotTraining
@FreePilotTraining 6 месяцев назад
Well, I’m not a huge fan of flying at night, but I’ve never felt like it was that dangerous

@@FreePilotTraining Well if I had a 35-year-old car and hardly anybody knows how to maintain the engine in that car I certainly wouldn't be out driving around at night that's for sure, I don't believe they allow you to do that in Europe unless you're IFR rated.
