This channel was made to give pilots and aspiring pilots FREE training. This channel has THE MOST COMPLETE private pilot ground course on RU-vid and it’s completely free… On this channel, you’ll find Private Pilot Ground study material to study for the written exam AND to get student pilots ready for the checkride and oral exam. These videos are also great for refreshing yourself on the rules and regulations of aviation.
Is there an app that helps you train your brain to pick out key words and repeat back. I just started tower operations and I struggle to repeat back the right thing.
i do not understand why nobody seems to think you need to be able to fly the airplane with precision in ground effect just above the runway to do good landings with the aircraft under total control. so use aileron to hold the centerline, opposite rudder to counteract the aileron input, and a combination of pitch and power to hold the aircraft in a level attitude in ground effect just above the runway. once you can do this good landings follow because now you have learned how to use your right hand on the throttle for a whole new dimension of control that most pilots don't learn for years if ever. now you can put the airplane on the ground under complete control in challenging winds and xwinds. how would you ever expect to put the plane on the ground under control if you can't keep it over the centerline with the longitudinal axis aligned with the runway?
@@FreePilotTraining Where you at? M n old dog pilot want to come fly with you! So thankful your a great teacher! All those new young eagles need to be looked after! Keep up the good work! Throttle on Pilot! 👍Brian
Apologies for jumping the gun on the first video I saw. I’m glad I came back bc the last 5 or 6 videos I’ve seen have been very informative. 0 crash jokes but 100% useful and helpful knowledge! Thank you!
No problem. I know I can be a little crass sometimes. It’s probably from being in the military for over 15 years. Hope to see you around more on the channel!
13:05, it's sort of like when you drive with a car's manual clutch part way in! not that you should do that. I used to do that to start up hills in 2nd gear lol
You HAVE to use pitch for speed and power for altitude. Otherwise, when you have an engine failure you will DIE. If you teach a student to maintain speed with power, and they lose power, they will not automatically know how to avoid stall-spin. Geddit?
Excellent video Josh. Its crazy to see all the taxiways and runway completely covered in snow. Definitely a whole new world for flying compared to here. It sure looked like a beautiful day for flying. I hope you and your family are doing well. Keep up the excellent work. Safe skies my friend 🇺🇸🛩️
Fantastic mate! Are you showing any other lessons with your trainee? I'm currently doing Aeronautical Radio Operator Course here in Australia with @ausflight and could understand the radio equipment and procedures on your lesson here much better! Greetings from Gold Coast/Tweed Heads Australia and thanks again! 🤙🛩️🏄🌴🌅
I haven’t made any more with him, but I have a handful of other ones with another student. I’d like to take a student all the way through on a series at some point.
Actually, it’s a requirement before you can solo. It’s not quite as bad as the video makes it seem. I’ve taken some students in some sketchy crosswinds lol
I have a question. I had a student who was hours from finishing his private. He got very stressed at his job and went on antidepressants. He was cleared once, but the whole 2ed time your out. He did have a medical, but now be will not be able to get his medical. Would be be able to finish his private with a basic med. I think he would because he did have a medical and it was not revoked.
You should make a video with an actual altimeter to better illustrate what you mean about adjusting it properly. Im not really understanding why the altimeter would read zero.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. This course is great to watch after reading Pilots Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge, and Airplane Flying Handbook. I felt it really helped to make the information more clear and usable. I would recommend moving the videos about medical and license types ahead in the order. Also the video about runway signs and layout sooner (it would help add context throughout the series). Thank you again, I really appreciate you making meaningful content available to everyone.
Pretty sure i came up with a great way to remember and understand skids and slips with zero thinking necessary. When you think skids, think tokyo drift (if you like fast and furious) or just think of cars drifting. And then slips is just the opposite. For slips think of a toy boat going down a drain hole butt end first. Its rotating around a fixed point but the nose is facing away from the turn and the but is going towards it. But i think slips dont have to be explain too much when you know its the opposite orientation to a skid
Thanks! I actually signed up to instruct on base. I took all the tests and my checkout was canceled 4x because of stupid rules or reasons that made no sense. I figured it wasn’t meant to be at that point. Currently on orders, so I’ve been too busy to fly the last couple months. Hopefully that will change soon
I actually live here now. I’ve been thinking about going over to Land and Sea to talk to them about a sea plane rating. Where are you training? We may be able to meet up when I go there. Also, pm me on Facebook or Instagram so we can continue this conversation. I have issues replying to a reply on RU-vid
Great videos. All of them are. I'm watching every single one from oldest to newest - i have a lot to go! It's great seeing so much local-to-me charts (from Stillwater, Ok)! Looking forward to acquiring my PPL!
Same here. I took lessons many years ago but never finished because of financial issues, then health issues. Now I just fly flight simulators, but I still like learning the correct way to do things.
