I will always believe that Pia's win is one of the biggest proof of destiny! I thought that she will clinch the title in her second year but she was encouraged to speak in Filipino during the Q and A and there's a lot of English-speaking judges during that time and she eventually loses that year. On her third attempt, she goes head to head with Janicel. She was bashed during her reign as BBP Universe but stayed humble and calm. Then, her gown should have been the color black gown of Baraza but destiny allowed her to wear an iconic Filipino design. Pia's destiny is indeed the universe! Her win is symbolic and paved the way for more creative appreciation for Filipino designers alike.
It appalls me when people continue to throw back handed compliments like 'she is not that beautiful but ..' . She is STUNNING. And then you learn about her and hear her speak with such humility, and you know she truly means it when she says, she is confidently beautiful with a heart.

She's really destined to win and be famous because she has a golden heart and because of Steve Harvey. I salute Steve for correcting his mistake and announced the deserving winner. I salute the judges who told Steve that Pia was the one who won. I salute the Miss Universe Organization for letting Steve announced the true winner. 24:00 She did cry. Backstage. It was truly heartbreaking. 💔 A little backstory on the iconic blue gown. She said they really "fought for it" haha. Against madame and the typhoon in Ph. And she received it just a few days before the pageant and had only fitted it once. "Dasal dasal lang na magkasya" she said. 😄 So much had happened but well, what's meant to be is meant to be. 💜 In an interview after the pageant, Pia said she wanted to go Ms. Colombia but there were many people around her comforting her. And then she thought maybe it was bad timing if she went to her in that instant. She said she wanted to "apologize" for what happened. My gosh. This girl. 😭 I loved her back then. She's so humble. She's queen, yet "kalog". She had a purpose. But now i love her even more. I admire her even more. When she shared WHAT she really went through during her reign, behind the cameras. She has a high EQ and is mentally strong as well.

Because of Pia until now that issue what happened between Colombia and Philippines is still alive. And every year of miss universe when there is a colombian’s candidate get into semi-final the master host Mr Steve making something different reaction for Colombia. 😀
Pia is my ultimate favorite Binibining Pilipinas winner with Venus Raj as second best (the drought breaker of the Philippines to the MU). I used to fight with her haters and and bashers during her national reign, she was heavily bashed before due to her weight (and called as piggy pia) and not being that tall. Her runner up in national pageant was also MU caliber with a cinderella life story and had lots of pageant fans and supporters but Pia stood strong and prove them wrong, she tried her best to go to gym, there was a clip before that she cried because it was hard to do gym training but with her dedication and perseverance, she was able to achieve that body (and ofcourse that bouncy boobsie ya’ll). She was bashed heavily after giving a hope statement to the Philippines as to ease the frustrations of the Filipinos to the defeat of Manny Pacquaio in boxing that she will fight hard to get the MU crown (and she did). Indeed, Pia will forever remembered in the history of the Miss Universe beauty pageant. PS: all her bashers were burried 1000 feet below the ground when she won and that is for sure. ~ love lots from the🇵🇭

Some of my thoughts 1. Personally that national costume was far the best filipiana presented in ms universe tho i like the national costumes presented by catriona and bea more. 2. Her smize walk stood out during swimsuit round it's like watching Victoria secret fashion show 3. The blue mermaid dress was fantastic and represents the local artisans very well in international stage this should be a thing for other participating countries as well so they get more if not winning the crown or atleast for local artisans also Pia's facial projection is no joke during this round 4. Her answer for the first question was laid out pretty well starting from the history which made her answer relatable to the international audience not just for fellow Filipinos also even though it is political she was asked of what is her opinion so whether it is favorable or not she answered the question and she back it up well and come on "confidently beautiful with a heart" will be relevant for a decade 🤣
her beautiful iconic blue gown is a perfect match with the elusive phoenix mikimoto crown...it fits like it was really meant/made for her. the color coordination, the style, the hair, the gown it all blended well like the whole universe aligned for her that night.💙💙💙 👸🏽♛
The fact that Filipina Reps in Miss Universe, most of the time were not allowed to wear Filipino-made gowns and national costumes. It's Colombian designer who made gowns and national costumes to the reps until MUPH '14. MJ called as a sacrificial lamb because the Filipino pageant fan revolted against Madam Stella about her national costume. Pia was allowed to wear Filipino designed gowns but Madam Stella had a condition that she needs to win Miss Universe.
Yeah, that was TOUGH! To get what you wished for (to wear what you want) but to be pressured by your boss to win! Damn! This lady is really a BOSS! A badass queen!

Please watch Pia's interview at a US radio interview HOT 97. She just won at that time and you will know her more. She was very candid and the interviewers said they then know why she won.
I do strongly believe that she is the most iconic and most memorable queen for me. She is one of my few all-time favorites. And of all the queens, I must say the she is the one that really has the deep connection to me. Like, she so special and there's this radiance, there's this special aura that makes you wanna love her. Not to mention that her winning moment is so symbolic and phenomenal in many ways. Like everything was just perfectly aligned at that moment.
Im not Bias tho but for me Our Queen Pia deserve the crown Because of the characteristics that she speak from the heart ,This moment was epic,and memorable in everyone and ,It's marked on the history of pageantry .
Pia untill now the most iconic. Competing 3-4 times for Ms Philippines to represent the country for Ms Uni. What a journey it has been for her. A destined Miss Universe. I was inspired of how she evolved timely making herself relevant and her courage in achieving her dreams. Truly a characteristic of a Filipino, the never give up attitude. 🫰
Colombians were so ecstatic when she was first announced as Miss Universe 2015 because it is like a back to back win since Miss Universe 2014 is Colombia. And so I truly think it hurt deeper for Miss Colombia to have that crown taken away just after minutes of having it because she already thought she made it. I mean, the pressure that she must have gone through in order to get a back to back victory that year must be super strong. Until now, I still empathize with how she must have felt after the crown was taken away. At the same time, I totally agree with what you said about Pia having the most iconic win but also the messy. Coz she couldn't truly express her happiness of winning since she now has guilt for the other party. She must have felt all kinds of emotions inside her and I admire her for having the composure to still stand out there and smile. It was truly a remarkable event but I truly hope that it never happens to any other girls again.

I remember watching this so vividly while at work😅. Me ( before the announcement): It's Philippines, coz she got better answer.... Me(after the announcement): Oh well, atleast still a great performance and still proud of her. Then I started to joke around saying, "Plot twist: Steve is just joking..." Then Steve went back stage and said "I have to apologize.." Everybody at work, even our clients screamed!😂 My favorite is still Catriona and Sushmita Sen.

Yes Pia Miss Universe 2015 is much loved. When Steve went back, I already knew that there was a mistake and that Pia was really the winner. I was jumping and screaming when Pia was confirmed as Miss Universe.

yes made her the most famous MU. but on the other hand she was into a rough times also. i learned from her interview that she have to talk to a "shrink" because the treats she received...to be fair it wasn't Pia's fault to what happened...
I totally agre about Pia using local designers, then Catriona upped it a little bit more with incorporating culture into it. FYI, other countries have been hiring Filipino designers and trainers recently.
