Hey do not have the piaggio medley book that comes with the scooter there it says when to change the oil brakes

Hi, thank you for viewing. Today i did one last video about it, going over some tools i use and some basic maintenance. Will upload in the next days.

In my research that's how I found it's done. Unscrew-wipe-screw-unscrew to check level.

Ive just been to my local agent with a 2024 model after just 150 KM for a top up !! That`s how they recommend it to be done as i was resting the stick on the thread like other scooters in the past and the result was with just the tip of the stick marked with oil. My owner manual doesn`t say any thing regarding engine maintenance just how to use the controls and the blue tooth system in the dash !

Hmm...weird one. On mine the problem dissapeared after i made the video. So iridium spark plug and adjusting the idle seemed to work and the engine hums as it should now. I always use the standard petrol, 95. No sense of going for 98 as the engine is build with that in mind. Unless you find a good mechanic you can trust, i sugest to do your own research if the issue persists. Good luck.

@@thegabrielverse Have just bought the new 2021 Piaggio Medley 125 s.on 19th Oct 2021. As you say I cannot find any instruction manual so your video is very useful to me. I shall have it professionally serviced for the 1st 2 years and then do the work myself, so your video will be very useful to me and has been saved in my bookmarks. I also have a 2004 Yamaha Flamex 125 bought new. Now 17 years old 34k miles and running like new. It had there same idling problem which I unsuccessfully tried to cure with new spark plug as you did. Finally had the carb professionally cleaned which cured it.

Did another video today showing what tools i use. Will take a day or two to edit and put it up.

Hey man. Thanks. Thing is i didn't take care of it from the begining. Most of the time i went for the cheapest tesco and asda. But i've seen some recommendations to avoid this long term. Go for bp or shell. Regular 95 is ok. No need to use the superior petrol as it is only a 125 cc bike and won't make any difference. So basically, good petrol and good servicing will keep your bike very nice.

Probably you can squeeze 500-1000rpm from it but don't think it's worth pushing the bike over the limit. It will stress pretty much everything, engine, belt, variator. At the end of the day it's only a 125cc engine. 55mph is the factory sweet spot. I recommend upgrading to a better belt, variator and clutch. That will give you a bit more accelaration and top speed. The power of the engine it's the same, these "performance" upgrades just have less of a resistence when transfering the power from the engine to the wheel.

I drained the old coolant first, wasn't a leak. I've replaced it with new fluid.

It was a 10000 miles scuter, valves have no business being questioned. Plus had already fixed it in the clip. Had no such issues after that

@@thegabrielverse ahh, I think I may have miscommunicated. I wasn’t suggesting a valve adjustment as a solution. I was merely interested in learning what the valve clearences a supposed to be on this scooter. I can’t seem to find it anywhere online, so I just opted to ask you. 😊 Do you know the clearences for intake and exhaust valves?

@@bjarkenielsen8515 Oh, my bad. No idea to be honest. Considering the complexity and basically nothing about it online, I would just take it to a shop...reluctantly. Anyways, I wouldn't think about it before 20 even 30000miles.

i think this is the model, don't remember exactly LMAR8EI-7 It's in the manual, I just upgraded to the iridium ones.

Oil is 0W30, (i put 0W30 shell C2) and filter is on right side, close to exhaust pipe.

Hi. A bit late for you but today i made another video and will upload in the next days. Basically any synthetic 0w30 oil. The brand doesn't make much difference in this 125cc engines.

@@thegabrielverse do you know if you can use normal car Castrol engine oil. Or does it have to be four stroke one. As it's hard to find four stroke one.

@@charliethecat720 Mam Citystara 125 7,5 KW , niedopatrzyłem się nawet w instrukcji obsługi jak się mierzy , wobec tego zalewam na maxymalny poziom mierząc wkręconą miarką i gdy trzeba nieco dolewam na max. poziom . W czerwcu kupiłem piaggio medley 125 , instrukcja nie jest po polsku i też nie wiem .

Bo jak go odpalisz to zassa olej do silnika i będzie pokazywał mniej niż jest naprawdę

Ja bym dolewał tylko jak olej byłby na samym dole miarki i uzupełnial tylko do połowy miarki
