"I bet you could knock out an essay while you're waiting...OR better idea: there should be enough chairs to lay across and you could take a nap! I won't tell anybody."
The start of a new semester can be exhausting. And with a two hour gap between classes, how are you supposed to stay sane? Good thing your friend doesn't seem to mind you crashing his practice session.
*No talking aside from the INTRO. To be specific hehe
(I told you I'd do it, didn't I? A sleep aid! A proper long one this time! There is only talking through the intro so feel free to loop the second chapter of the video for just the piano. Simple and relaxing (hopefully) ^-^
This was kind of an experiment and kind of a way to show off how cool my new piano software sounds. I'm in love. By the way, please ignore the fact that, while I called it an acoustic piano in the script, you can hear me playing distinctly plastic keys...let's just pretend I own an acoustic, yeah? As usual (but not always), this audio is binaural. Use headphones, ya goof.)

@huh735 The way this was recorded, I was recording the piano MIDI info into Logic while capturing the room with my binaural mic at the same time. I was hoping that mixing the two would make it feel more live and real so I'm super happy to hear you say that!! Thank you

I wouldn't usually pick a no talking audio to fall asleep to but this was really nice! I have very cosy memories of curling up under some chairs at our church building, or sometimes at home too and just being all sleepy while my dad messed around on the piano. This felt a little like that, although my dad tends to lean towards fast and upbeat so back then I was sleepy but not asleep lol

Maybe I'll try the same idea again but with writing or folding origami or something, but with a little more soft talking as well? Ah you're giving me ideas, your memory sounds so cozy. I've slept in a music room a few times in college. It's either really quiet or really loud but still cozy. Made myself a nest in one of the shelves for the large cases. 100/10 thank you Tanu!!!! You and your music are amazing as always 🎉 I hope everyone rests well and knows to take time for yourself and to be kind. You are loved, appreciated and are pretty amazing to boot. Thank you for existing. Stay hydrated, fed and well rested 💖 Edit: if you ever go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, go to the sardine's and the jellyfish exhibits and listen to this. Lay on the floor and watch the dines swim in circles or chill with the different jellies.

The piano had me lulled and just as I felt myself drifting off to sleep, I heard your voice above the notes, as if to remind us of your presence, and couldn't help but smile and kick my feet like a dumb little schoolgirl. Your vibe is just so comforting. Just by knowing you're the one on the other end of the microphone makes me feel loved and cared for somehow. Thank you so much for recording this, Tanuki-san. 🕊️ Your vocalising was very relaxing to listen to. You have a beautiful voice, to me it sounded soothing, expressive and warm. A bit hypnotic, even. And the sound of keys transported me back to my childhood, when my grandmother, a former piano teacher, used to play for me all the time, and we danced and sang the Beatles' songs and stuff like that together, haha. She showed me how to appreciate music... and I'm so grateful, because nowadays music always gives me hope. I still own her acoustic piano (her precious friend, as she calls it), and just realised it's like 70 years old. 🙈 Well, thank you again for this lovely experience. 🤍 I would be really happy if you could make a sleep aid video like this in the future, because this one is priceless. At least for me it is. Hope you're doing well out there. ✨

This audio is definitely in my top 5 of yours - I've lost count of the number of times I've listened to it! The humming is so relaxing 😌 and the sound of the plastic keys adds another ASMR trigger, which I love as it reminds me of many good memories 💛 If you ever release music in "real life", I really hope to have the chance to randomly find it 🙏 As always, the haiku 💖

I remember having a 6 hour gap between classes once a week and oh gosh I wanted to quit so badly. Ended up joining anime club but then quit since my course got so content heavy. Ended up studying in the library to the point where I enjoyed it so much I’d stay till closing time 💖 The atmosphere was so soothing and peaceful.

At the very beginning I played Ravel's "A La Maniere De Borodine" and at the very end I played Couperin's "Les Barricades Mysterieuses," and everything in between is improvised by me! Whoa, put this on last night after a long restless day at work and I fell asleep in like 4 minutes. Slept like a baby. Thank you sm!! Your playing and voice are very beautiful!! Idk what software you're using for the piano but its rly good!! Love that you also recorded the room sounds and you actually pressing the keys, the combination of piano and it's mechanical sounds is my favourite thing when listening to piano pieces. @laura1naruto77 Aha I'm so happy to know it helped!! If you're really curious, I've been using Galaxy Instruments' "The Maverick" which is sampled from a custom concert grand! Sampling technology is so crazy now, omg. I went through a phase where I listened exclusively to Nils Frahm, and his way of capturing the mechanical sounds of the piano as clearly as the actual notes was something I always adored. It makes it feel more human and organic I think. Ah. Thank you for listening, you have a lovely day as well!!!

@koolours1870 Improv, sadly, I wish I could direct you to some sheet music. Everything but the start (Ravel's "A La Maniere De Borodine") and the end (Couperin's "Les Barricades Mysterieuses") was improvised. I'm happy you enjoyed it though! It isn't too dense when I listen to it though, maybe it would be good ear-training practice to pick out the melodies? Hehe best of luck with your piano endeavors

@ShermanB-mg1fr Ah sad news, the pieces throughout are all improvised by me! So there's nowhere else to play them or find sheet music of them. EXCEPT for the very first and last pieces which are Ravel's 'A la Maniere de Borodine' and Couperin's 'Les Barricades Mysterieuses'. Would highly recommend looking at either of those though, they aren't super difficult and they sound wonderful :) I'm so happy you enjoyed them
