What Frank is so good at is not just getting the melody and the chords but all the subtle filler, the subtle transitions between chords. He is a truly amazing musician.

As a person who sings (and is decent at it) and is trying to learn the piano, I am surprised by how many people ask if he sings. Like, isn't beautiful piano playing enough? And the amount of musical knowledge and SKILL this man possess to be play anything by ear immediately and even improve some basic melodies to be more complete as a piano solo is more amazing than words can describe. He is part of the reason why I finally took the jump and started taking piano lessons to put my keyboard (which has not seen much love since I took about a week of classes more than a decade ago) to use. This was one of my favorite videos. I love when Frank knows and plays an entire song randomly requested from memory as if he had the music in front of him. (But clearly doesn’t.) Also when he can listen to a new song and instantly replay such a long piece of it perfectly when it’s not even piano, mimicking other instrumentals. 🤯 Insanely talented man. It seems churlish to say that the advert segments are also my favourite bit, because obviously the main content is the real attraction, but the adverts and the straight-faced tomfoolery from Frank is just killer every time without fail. The fish quietly flopping on the keyboard at the start of the segment just killed me and the rest of the ad didn't disappoint. Not so much for Harrison to work with this week but I love his editing touch too.
