It's bizarre to me that fascists like this song when it's about the masses rising up against the exploiting classes. Fascism protects and entrenches the bourgeoisie and landlords, and usually the church as well (depending on country/culture). To me this is absolutely a song of the workers and peasants, and naturally socialist and revolutionary in spirit.
@ovalgoatkid1340
@ovalgoatkid1340 5 месяцев назад
Well keep in mind, the nazis think their movement is about rising up against the ruling class as well. However, the line is drawn where in leftist movements, the ruling class is the bourgeoisie, where as with nazis it’s just jews.
@ordinaryrat
@ordinaryrat 2 месяца назад
@@ovalgoatkid1340 In multiple leftist parties in Germany they assumed that Jews composed the bourgeoisie and could justify ge*cide with that. Strasserism is a clear example. I think this does extend to n*zism as well to some extent. Similiar to modern anti-semetics they view the jews as the true dominant class in society that controls everything and corrupts everything. So to them it isn't g*nocide, it was literal class warfare.

the nazis had a tendency to steal from the communist, they for example wrote a version of "Auf auf zu kampf" and replaced Karl Liebknecht with Hitler. Also I think the melody for this song was written by someone who ended up becoming a nazi. a shame this song is now connotated with fascists though, it truly goes hard

Great song! I have to say, I'm surprised to hear a leftist sing this. In France (were I'm from), a version of this song exists, written by the french SS because it was the anthem of the SS division "Florian Geyer". There is been a lot of debate on the comment section about it, but I believe this song is clearly a leftist revolutionary song, since it is about the German Peasants Revolt of the 1520's, who were influenced by the ideals of Thomas Muntzer and the Anabaptists in believing that the End of Times was coming and that the existance of an hierarchical and oppressive society was incompatable with Christian values, and therefore it all had to be overthrown in favour of an utopian form of communism ("Kingdom of God" on Earth) based on Christian Millenarianism.
