Your actions were sanctioned by the rules in effect in a public place and you had the right to perform in that space filming at that angle. You had been speaking about some shifty activity that was happening in the area. You had been rightfully checking everyone out in case something untoward was about to happen. Suddenly the Chinese people approached you to demand you not film them. Could it be they had a case of paranoia, misinterpreting your actions? What was the big deal about their images being shown on RU-vid? What were they afraid of? Were they of the common belief of primitive people who believe taking a photograph or film of them steals their souls? Had they left China without permission? If they were suffering paranoia, their jumping to such a conclusion was very quick, leaving no time to sort that out and moved into the swampy weeds of their demands, an attack that took you by surprise as well as all the bystanders. At any rate, their presence standing in the shot was of their choosing and if they objected to being filmed, then the reasonable action was, as you said, for them to get out of the shot. The man's escalation to yelling at you, falsely accusing you of touching the woman when everyone standing around saw that you only touched the flag she was holding, attempting to dominate you by repeating the false accusation over and over, commanding you to not touch her was ridiculous. He was abusively committing the crime of verbal assault. Obviously he had been a debater in school. Using a loud voice yelling over another person, using obfuscation by false accusation, rapidly repeating his words in an urgent aggrieved tone of voice are tactics of rhetoric having Greek names used to describe these literary devices. She does not understand the basic rule of law on this issue. It is very simple. (1) Everyone has the right to film in public places in the UK. (2) However if someone is not happy having his or her image used on line, they could apply to have the images removed or even sue for financial damages through civil court but this is not a police matter as it is not a criminal offence to film in the public areas in the UK. The police should have understood that in the first place and explained that clearly to those Chinese rather than arguing with them forward and backward, wasting their time!

I've watched so many videos; based in either the US, UK, or similar countries having the basic "freedom" package of laws in place; wherein someone - usually a visitor from somewhere else - starts complaining. Why? Because their laws, wherever they're from, are not the same. I couldn't believe that one young man who started screaming at you about your interaction with the young lady. What did he think you were going to do? Assault the young lady right there in public in front of everyone AND cameras? Wow! Customs may differ slightly from country to country, but that was unreal.
