Here, i think it was an artistic decision not to play it accurately in order to have this visual gag, which i think was worth it.

still, I think it would have been better if they made it like: remove left hand, play the melody but some octaves lower, while still adding those crazy jumps. of course it would be more work, and they would probably argue that it's not worth it

@@thorbjrnhellehaven5766 Which it would be, considering this was hand drawn on a time crunch. Remember Tom and Jerry was a TV show, well done for a cartoon but still cuts had to be made in order to produce episodes in a timely manner.

Might I recommend the scene from “Eminence in Shadow” when Shadow/Cid plays the piano in the underground cathedral. Or when Epsilon plays the piano in front of a group as a performance. They’re both from the same episode after all.

I think only the parts with gags are the only one that weren't accurate. The parts with no gag and pure music however are mostly accurate (especially the intro)

Audio aside, it's fascinating that the cartoon keys seem to be really thin, or maybe transparent? When a key is pressed, you can see the orange background THROUGH the next key.

I think you jump a bit too high? In the scene, the distance of the jump is about 3 octaves (or 15 black notes). Yet your distance of the jump is about 5 octaves (or 25 black notes)

Apart from that, everything is correct: a cat dressed in a tailcoat plays the piano using its four-fingered hand with a telescopic little finger.

I knew when I first saw the clip it was way off. The high note was like 2 octives higher than the rest in the actual music but Tom was playing on complete opposite sides of the piano

u can’t have hand tat long It’s just a cartoon it’s not real Do u see Tom on the streets No He doesn’t exist You exist I exist your piano exists. Also cats don’t talk He has four fingers Do u have four fingers? No No one has four fingers you have five fingers I have five fingers everyone has 5 Fingers. Even your piano has five fingers… OOPS PIANOS Don’t have fingers. They have pedals (Magi.. Electric Pianos have buttons). Jerry also has four fingers and talks. I know very little about music, but Tom is jumping 3 octaves in the animated segment and you are jumping 5 octaves in your recreation. So I have to call out that you are not trying to play what is being shown in the animated clip.
