this has been sitting in my mux folder for like 2 months sorry!! this run was on january 21st. have been taking a break from the game until the next update, but i may do some silly challenge runs soon anyway ^^ w ^^
some speedrun info/FAQs PAUSING/GAMESPEED, AND ITS EFFECTS ON THE INGAME-CLOCK: when gamespeed is above 0 (so, unpaused), the ingame clock runs at 1 second every 60 frames. if the fps drops below 60, the in game clock runs slower than real time. fps is different from gamespeed, which can be from 0 to 200%, and effects simulation speed. it's at 200% when you have fast forward toggled, and conversely when you unpause, level up, or hold tab, the game speed smoothly drops to/returns from 0. basically, you wanna level up a bunch of times all at once, pause to skip slowdowns, or if you're a Gamer you can recognize the silhouette of the item ASAP when you level up and make your choice within a few frames, which means the gamespeed doesn't get the chance to slow down significantly. there's also some stuff-like the wait for the next zone choices to appear at the start/when you kill a boss, the delay before mortality starts ticking up after you enter a zone, and the transitions between Picayune's phases-that run independently of gamespeed/pausing. because mortality increases at a fixed rate tied to gamespeed, there is a lower bound of 12 minutes and 30 seconds of time to get to mortality 25 at 200% speed. this means i lost approximately 46 seconds to slowdown, bosses, and other wait times during this run. it may very well be possible to get a sub 13 run, but it'd be very difficult and require near-perfect level ups and pausing. at this point, movespeed is actually one of the more important timesavers, given i kill most of the bosses in
