So, catheter occlusion are fairly common in PICC lines and do not require the line to be d/c, it is treated easily, midline occlusion are not recorded because the line just gets pulled. This study is VERY Skewed! Not to mention vesicants cannot be administered through a midline and there is a MUCH higher risk that an infiltrate with occur in a midline and go unnoticed for quite some time!
