Ya, when piccolo wines back and his muscle bulge and the music to accompany it is chefs kiss, not to mention his so thinking in his mind (Now it's my turn)
Absolutely and easily my favorite Piccolo scene of all time. This version SPECIFICALLY with this voice acting and music! Piccolo is that deal! Thank you so much for uploading this version and for the timing of which you started and finished the cut🙏🏿
The details are great, especially in the early dbz movies. I love the way piccolo punches through his guard and sends him flying, rather than just hitting in clean
I like the subtle way that Piccolo's immense strength is demonstrated at 1:08. Sansho blows away a solid stone pillar with a single punch that wasn't even aimed at it, and then when he throws his very next punch against Piccolo, Piccolo blocks it effortlessly. A punch so powerful it can shatter thousands of pounds of stone like it's nothing isn't even enough to make Piccolo flinch in the slightest. It's easy to miss because of how quick it is, but a really clever and badass way of showing just how strong Piccolo really is.
Man I remember rushing home after school on Fridays to catch this and the other DBZ movies. Brings me right back, I remember yelling and jumping up and down at my screen as soon as Piccolo showed.
I miss this Piccolo, he was soo underrated during the later sagas, oh and but the way McNeil over Sabat any day, at least with ocean Piccolo and Vegeta don't sound the same.
Fun fact: Ocean Dub's voice actor Scott McNeil voiced Piccolo and also voiced Dinobot from Transformers Beast Wars and even Dr Wiley from Mega Man TAS, The Vulture from Spiderman Unlimited and Logan from X-Men Evolution. Edit: When Dinobot gave his last drop of spark life to destroy the Golden Disc. That scream/roar when he shoots his eye lasers to the Golden Disc is the same pitch and scream from the beginning of this movie. When Piccolo is training and destroys the mountainous rock with his telekinetic mind as he screams/roar. Cheers 🍻
Lol, I remember before Dbz was in cartón network, it was in the WB, and they showed Beast wars first and dbz later. Never knew they had the same voice but makes sense
This isn't the original english voice the original voice was used in dragonball just before z and that one was better than all the others though this one is good too. Though the over voices in this dub are not that great. I liked vegetas even though it was high pitched
I remember watching this and The World’s Strongest on Toonami over 20 years ago. Though the music was strange at first because it was different from what was on the show and Tree of Might. Then I watched the Spanish dub and boy did it all make sense.
Little did Sansho know that without the other 2, Krillin woulda beaten the shit outta him. He may have not been made quick work of like he was against Piccolo but he woulda absolutely lost against a Gohan-defending Krillin at this point IMO. Sansho may have had a bit higher power level than Krillin but Krillin would have wiped dude eventually using what he learned from Roshi and Goku all those years.
Easily my favorite DBZ movie. This was my first time ever watching DBZ back then as a kid sneak watching adult swim with my cousins, been hooked ever since, good times lol
@@kingp260 Sounds exactly like a Scott McNeil heavy metal scream to me. You sure you're not thinking of how Goku's Japanese VA had the screams kept in for previews of this movie?
Dragon Ball OST CD 5 - Dragon Ball Z that's the name of the Piccolo battle music, check it out, the entire thing is 7 and a half minutes long, with different scores :]
P - "Not so tough without your two backup dancers are you ugly?" S - "Now why you gotta be throwing out mean words like that?" P - "You know that's fair. How about I grab a couple of friends and try to murder you instead?" S- "Well personally, I feel like that would be very uncalled for..." ::Piccolo hits Sansho & sends him flying:: P - "You're right. Because unlike you..." ::Fires a Ki blast killing Sansho:: P - "...I don't need help!" - TFS DBZ Abrdiged.
'The three of you are so easy to beat one on one' line went hard. I remember it in one of toonami's commercial bump. The power pole extend line from goku was great too.
This voice actor was always better than the one we got for the rest of the dub in the US. His voice sounded tough and slightly sinister; where the one we ended up staying with; sounded like he was trying to overcompensate in impersonating this one.
how could they downgrade him so much over the years to the point in the buu saga where he had the same rank in the z fighters as tien........he cant do much but he can do something thats what i mean.
The Buu Saga is my least favorite saga. Honestly, I enjoyed the Garlic Jr. Saga more because it was more entertaining than watching 40 episodes of, "CAN GOTENKS BEAT BUU?! CAN MYSTIC GOHAN BEAT BUU?! CAN VEGETO BEAT BUU?! WHO CAN BEAT BUU?!?!?!?!" The Garlic Jr. Saga had flaws and was filler but at least it was unique and gave Gohan, Krillin, and Piccolo an even playing ground and an interesting premise. I loved the idea of a world taken over by a mist that turns people into psychos. It was pretty cool.
Definitely top 2 in my favorite piccolo moments in DBZ history. This may have taken number 1, but I love it when he faces Frieza in his 1,000,000 power level.
@SSJUsopp Maybe because this was Pioneer instead of Saban, or funimation exclusively. Also, they treat anime that isn't DBZ decently. FUNimation was fond of pissing all over DBZ for some reason, and getting rich anyway
The movies at the time were licensed by Pioneer (later Geneon), who didn’t change the music like Funimation. Pioneer/Geneon also used Ocean to dub the series before Funi started using their own in-house studio to dub the series.
Kinda sad to see piccolo beating that guy up so easily here, while he had problems with so many other enemies in the manga. Should have let him be stronger there, that badass deserves even more moments to shine, not only Goku XD
I think some of the japanese dub movies actually have unique scores in the vein of the original DBZ series compositions. So I think it's interesting to hear the music from the show used in this movie.
If DBZ in english kept the original japanese soundtrack like this and stopped adding dialogues when characters are turned back it would have been good like this Thank god in Europe they kept all the original stuff
O.O It's! The original Piccolo Battle Music! Do you have any idea how hard this scene is to find?! Now I just need to find Piccolo's entrance in the movie, the one with his Dragon Ball Demon King theme playing. Man, I remember watching this on Toonami, good times.
ahhhhhh back when piccole was goku's rival and everything was right in the world. list of goku's rivals : 1)yamcha 2) krilln 3) master roshi 4) tien 5) piccole 6) vageta
