I was told that I didn't speak English enough to be a nurse. I had just came from Haiti 🇭🇹 child... I was pissed because it was a family who told me that. That short Bob on you looks amazing !!! & Immigrant child here Born & raised in Haiti and moved to the states at 12 years old & is now a Registered Nurse, trying to juggle work, life & trying to venture into business as well ! One thing I’ve learned is if God brought you to it, God will bring you through it ! I was so nervous taking my NCLEX and Praise God I passed it on the first try about 4 years ago now ! The part you said “I’m trying to buy my Mama a House” I really felt that ! My parents left their career and Home that they built in Haiti to come to the US due to too much insecurity & so they had to start all over from scratch! So one of my goals is to keep going even when things get tough so that they feel their sacrifices was worth it & that they can be comfortable in their elderly age! Knowing the sacrifices our parents made as immigrant kids is the biggest motivation, & plus also knowing those back Home looking up to us ! Keep doing your thing Tajah ! So proud !👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I love your videos! I remember stumbling upon dental hygiene as a career as well and trying to look into it, and found your channel about 3 years ago. I am in DH school right now, I’m my last semester, and just took my NBDHE, and CSCE. Girl! Can I say, it’s been a journey! All I can say is if y’all want to do hygiene, do it! Or anything else in life, go for it! I remember my advisor telling me something similar, saying how competitive the program was, but hey! I did it, and I’m almost to the finish line, and on to a new beginning. I can’t wait!

Hey girl hey! Yes I remember researching dental hygiene videos while I was in school and to no avail. You are doing a beautiful thing motivating so many people to pursue their goals. This year I'll be a dental hygienist for 6 years and my dream job is to be a dentist. I wanted to move straight into DDS after hygiene but financially that was just not possible. It's still not possible yet thanks to student loans but like you mentioned I'm praying that my current 9-5 works as a stepping stone to me going back to school. I remember looking for DH videos here on RU-vid when I started my first semester of pre-reqs, and your videos were one of the first to pop up. I’m currently still working on my pre reqs due to some changes in the requirements since the program changed from an associates to a bachelors degree. I took a semester off due to these changes and lack of motivation because I went from talking about graduation and applying into the program to having to do another year of pre-reqs. I’m back on track and feel more motivated than ever to get the finish line. Thank you so much for your motivation and inspiring me to stick to my initial goal of getting a career in dental hygiene 💗

I had a counselor say the exact same thing to me when I expressed that I wanted to go for dental hygiene. She actually told me that I probably wouldn't get in... Her saying that made me get in my head really bad and second guess myself A LOT. My boyfriend encouraged me to still apply to the program. He believes in me so much. So, March 8th at 2 pm is when I'm taking my PSB test! I'm a little nervous cause of the time limit on the test, 200 questions in 154 mins! I’ve been having a tough time bc I recently started back at Starbucks *I was there in my teen years* bc I needed something flexible for school. i was originally a dental hygiene major before I became a dental assistant. my advisor also told me how competitive it was to get in and i needed more A’s. I did just that retook my classes with B’s and got A’s. But becoming an DA made me realize it wasn’t for me. The x-rays was the only thing i loved doing so i changed to radiology and love it😭

my teacher at dental assisting school basically told me the same thing! FAST FORWARD 4 years later now I’m in hygiene school and its not easy but its not as impossible as she made it seem, she is the reason i did not pursue hygiene sooner . she influenced me smh

Travel assignments are the best way to go! You gain more experience and skills and definitely confidence! You end up light years ahead of someone who’s stuck in a permanent position. Plus you make much more! Only downside is that there are no benefits but if you play your cards right, have a good account and definitely invest in the market, and take care of your health that won’t be an issue.
