Nuh-huh-hiiice! Always want to fall in love with a Dr Z, but a lot of his work is way overpowered, oversized or EL84 driven. But the Z-Lux and its 6V6 goodness is, to my ears at least, the best sounding Dr Z to date. Heck, it's even Joe Walsh approved! Still way more amp than I need or can afford. Hoping for smaller version, running a pair of 6V6s perhaps? Fingers crossed. Either way, fabulous sounding amp and great demo, mahalos!
A lot tighter and cleaner than a deluxe. Has some of the character but it's quite a departure from it. Especially compared to the modern reissues. I had a 65 deluxe reissues for 14 years. Played one of these and it was a completey different animal and imo blew it out the water.
