I got to know about a very simple, reliable and surprising by one of my viewers 'zajac1209'. It's a decoding method without pulling on the shackle and works great on the Yale, however seems to fail on other combination locks like the ABUS, LOCKWOOD or Burg Wächter. Oh wow! I was just able to pick the padlock a padlock I was struggling using this method. I accidentally reprogrammed the combination for a padlock a few months ago. The tension on the shackle method wasn't working but this method worked right away in a few seconds. Thank you very much for this video.

I have the exact same lock for which I accidentally changed the combination (ironically I spinned the digits such that another person would not see the correct combination while working in the basement, and forgot that it was actually changing the pattern). Anyway, the press method did not work (for me), nor the needle one. With this one it opened in under 1 min! Thank you again!

Me and my wife forgot combination to our lock. Wife said go buy a new one. I said no way. I tried a couple of methods that require pulling on the shackle, but could not get either of them working. Then I opened it using a pin method. But that felt like cheating. And I was kind of disappointed I could not open it without tools. So I tried to play with the lock some more but still no luck, even when I knew the combination I could feel the correct spot. However after watching your video I played with my lock for a couple minutes and felt brave enough to blindly scramble the combination it and try to unlock. It worked. No guesswork at all. I then did again twice, no problem! Thank you!

I feel pretty confidently about springing some combinations just maneuver the numbers and find the least resistant one and click in the clicks and practice it and wallah there's a knack to it too. Easy peasy shhhh.

It works!! It takes a little bit to get used to this method, but it actually works!! This is what attacking combination locks is all about ... seeing if there are any differences between the true numbers and the rest of them ... and there turns out that there's lots of things to test!

well i used a visual check method which is equally as quick if not quicker, useful for almost all locks i came across but not sure about all locks shown in your video, probably does, might wanna try my method on those, i think my method works depends on how tight the lock is build.

Got the same lock. Y150/40 just in another color. The whole lock is silver/grey. I did try this, it all feels springy all the way. No matter on what number i am on.

All you need is a long needle. Put it in de hole from above, en rotate the first wheel. At a point the needle will fall deeper onto the second wheel, turn the second wheel, and so on. Reed the number and turn all the wheels just one notch. Do this (turning one notch) untill the locks opens.

Good expo on the alternative opening option on a combination lock. Makes me think that the Yale may have an internal design that's less refined than the other three. Just a thought. Cheers:-)

what if the lock is open and you don't know the combination

this method works on my lockwood so maybe it's a design flaw in the machining?

I can see some joker finding this lock on a bike, using your method to undo the lock, and then changing the combination while the lock is open and putting the lock back on the bike. Imagine the owners reaction when he returns to the bike and tries to undo the lock with what he thinks is the right combination.

I have found a mutch faster and better way to open this lock .i was looking for a way to open this lock but with no succes .as i was working on it i found a verry cool and fast way to open it . I know how to place a reaction but i dont know how to explain it in words

Just use a safety pin in the hole. Way easier.

I have a different version of this lock, without the rounded bottom. This method does not work on the lock. It has almost no play or springiness. Interesting... It says FKE1 at the bottom. No other model number.

I believe I better suggest my client to use a different lock to deter thieves after the feeling and hearing Although it is noticeable even with different combination.
