An old combination lock and a pin tumber padlock are used to demonstrate the property that make lock picking possible: tolerances and the resulting binding order. Have fun with two amazing looking old locks.

I wish RU-vid had existed in 1984 at the height of my childhood 🔐 obsession. Seeing this video makes me 😥 wistful for two specific locks that I acquired that Christmas.
Nice old locks 👍 It makes some sense that both wheels of the combination lock were binding at the same time as probably the shackle wobbles a bit and you, of course, basically pulled on both sides of the shackle. Thanks for sharing these interesting locks 👍
Great picking and decoding, and great video as always Michael my friend. Hope you and yours are well mate. Thanks for sharing, we want more of your videos! cheers! ;o)))
Hi pottie I've got a problem I'm hoping you can give me some advice on I bought a yale rim cylinder lock with the key it worked fine I picked it and locked it now I can't get the key in and I can't pick it have you got any idea what I need to do to get it working again thanks for any information you can give me jimm
If you cannot get a key in, then I assume that a pin got stuck. Try tapping the lock with a plastic hammer or handle of a screwdriver from all sides (also spray lubricant into the keyway and wiggle the plug with a tensioner) and see if you can get the pin loose. Can you open the bible? Sometimes there is a plate. This way you could gut the lock and see what's wrong. More forcefully you could try to carefully drive in the key with a hammer (as last resort).
