I have a 10 year old coconut cream tree. Not a consistent producer until I stopped using commercial fertilizer. I now only use homemade fish emulsion, small amount of epson salt and wood ash. Now the tree has consistently produced 2 years in a row. I also spray with sulfur to control powdery mildew, which has wiped out production in the past. JAnuary, February and March are the worst months for powdery mildew.
Are there any subvarieties of cocunut cream ?? Some 15 years back Indian rural areas would have many typical flavoured mangoes but thanks to commercialisation now only few varieties exist that too like monoculture. Seeing your posts I go back in golden era of our childhood mangoes. Very great work by you .Hope to see some typical varieties.
You have some awesome videos I just purchased two coconut cream 3 gallon trees. Do I leave them in the pot they’re only about 36 inches tall not many leaves or do I transfer them into a bigger pot or do I put them in the ground it is late September 2023. Do I wait for the spring or do I Put them in the ground now. Thank you for your great videos and your great knowledge.
Thanks for posting! I planted a coconut cream mango in my back yard a little over a year ago and I can't wait to try the fruit. I still haven't had the opportunity to try this particular variety but I heard it was so good I just had to get one. Do you have any videos on how it tastes? I need to convince my wife to take a trip down there so I can buy some of your fruit and try the different varieties. We are up in Merritt Island so probably a good 2 to 3 hours away.
The amount of time needed to ripen fruit depends on how ripe the fruit was when it was picked, the temperature at which it's kept, and how much ripe fruit is near it.
