Half the time you find them and the other half they find you!
I took the Perentie out to pull the series 1 out of the garage where it has been sitting for about 30 years.
It was windy and dusty combined with have a cold which made for bad filming but when it is a Saturday you make the most of it.
This will be about my 20th Land Rover and my 7th series 1 which I only own 3(including this one) as a few of them had to go to make funds for others.
I have been told this was used on the Snowy Mountain Scheme. I have not found any proof of this as yet. I do know that there were LRs owned by the scheme and also quite a few used by contractors.

Crikey! That’s going to keep you out of trouble for a while. Nice find, I’m a reckoning a little stint with the pressure hose will make it look like new. I’m guessing there’s a reason it wasn’t used for so long and suspect a bad engine or gearbox. Have fun with it.

Thanks. It sure will keep me busy. The reason it got parked up was that the owner moved into town due to health reasons and when he died it stayed there until the property got sold. The person who bought the property wasn't interested in it and the house was falling apart. In saying that I haven't got the engine to start yet. Hoping now that the warmer weather is here I might get a chance to get it going.

Great find, well done. For future videos, please have the music balanced to your speaking volume. Those of us with headphone got a solid blasting every time the music kicked in.

9:18 - you don't have to take the wheel off to blow the bloody tyre up !
@LandySmurf

I didnt take it off to blow it up, I took it off to swap with the spare.

@@LandySmurf Is what you're saying that you didn't have a pump with you ?
@LandySmurf
@LandySmurf 4 года назад
@@millomweb I am saying the tyre and tube that was on the front were both stuffed so I swapped it with the spare which was better. I had a pump with me and tried/did pumping all tyres.

@@LandySmurf Ahh, not explained in the vid ;) I presumed they're tubed tyres & not tubeless ?

@@LandySmurf That's what I thought but someone else reckons 'they' have a centre diff. I believe the first were permanently 4WD - and may be a good reason for a centre diff - but when 2WD hi was an option, I thought it reasonable to not have a centre diff. Your thoughts ?
@LandySmurf
@LandySmurf 4 года назад
@@millomweb the later land Rovers I think the S3 stage 1s might have been the first of the series/defender range to have a centre diff.
