Picking Up My 2022 Harley Street Bob 114!! It's finally time to pick up my 2022 Harley Davidson Street Bob 114 from winter storage! I put the bike away for winter and now its finally nice enough to pick up the street bob. We'll pull it out of storage and take a quick ride through Philadelphia to talk about it.

He didn't show us all of the little, boring things he did before firing up and heading out. Things like: checking the air pressure in the tires. Taking the air cleaner cover off and checking for unwanted "guests". Lubricating the three Heim joints that allow the engine and transmission to move around. Lubricating the swing arm pivots. Lubricating the tops of the fork seals. Checking the oil level in the engine and transmission. Rocking the bike back and forth in gear, engine off, clutch lever pulled in, to break the clutch plates loose. Checking the tires for dry rot cracks. And, last but not least, verifying that all of the lights work, including the brake light. It's great to get back on the road.

@@TheMotoJawn You're a trusting soul. I worked in maintenance all of my life and understand Murphy's Law. One year I took the bike to the dealership for state inspection. When they pointed out that my tires were dry rotted I pointed out that I had bought them there 11 months and 2000 miles ago. I paid for the labor and they put two new tires on.

Happy Spring! Finally. Just a quick note on keeping your bike on the charging tender all the time. I use a timer. I keep the charger on for an hour a day. That way you don’t over charge the battery. Unless you have a smart charger, I would recommend this method. I was a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) tech for many years. I’ve seen lots of bad things from batteries getting over charged. Just my technical opinion. Hope to see you on the roads around Philly.

Check engine light is because it sat. Zero oil was in there when you fired it up IE zero pressure for a minute until it started cycling through. It should go off quicker after the next time you fire it.
