I mean the only big thing they did was remove the torque dip, first gen could also do 0-60 in under 6.5s with just better tires so it certainly wasn’t slow but the torque dip made it feel slow around town, styling is subjective, i personally don’t like the back of the new gen
@@broshido2745 styling is subjective, once you see it in person your perspective might change! I own one in halo white i didnt like the rear at first too. Once i had it in person i fell in love
@@broshido2745 The stiffness difference, too. Going back to back with my gen 1.5, the stiffness is noticeable on the current gen. But you did point out a big thing on the changes. Wouldnt say its the only one tho.
Congrats on your new car, you made the right choice with the 6MT and red colour. Nice tip on setting the 4000 rpm indicator, did not know you could adjust it down like that.
Barring a medical reason, nobody should ever buy the BRZ / GR86 in automatic. It's a complete waste of its capabilities and fun factor. Learning manual is easy too, and the skill becomes muscle memory within a day or so.
Congratulations mate. Can't wait for these to arrive in Australia. They look amazing. Tbh I'm still not a fan of the Subaru motor but the new 2.4 solves many of the concerns of gen 1 owners.

I’ve been waiting a month + for my local dealer to hopefully allocate my GR86 order but I might just call Oregon and do a 800 mile drive back home as well. Love the car and have fun with your build!!
I literally just clicked on this video to prove to myself that it was a manual. The majority of the first GR86s released to dealers came w/ an auto. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks Pushslice! The original spec sheet showed the car was being sold with all weather mats and a rear bumper clear strip which were installed at the port and not the dealer, aside from that no other add ons. The weather was perfect for the filming of this video, I got lucky indeed!
Just placed my order this week. Super stoked. Haha. Will be my fist new car. I’ve been working at a large Midwest Toyota dealership for the last 5 years, and saw one come into the detail shop. It definitely stands out in person and on the road, although I’ve never ridden in one yet. But the reviews seem overwhelmingly positive.
Good luck to those that are trying to get one here in the USA. SUBARU and Toyota had already met the allotment and is no longer ordering them or i can't walk in to order one. I was told by dealer they have no idea when they will get them.

if only they had a hatch version that kind of works like the 2018 Civic hatch where you can't tell much its a hatchback but it has the practicality of a more accessible trunk space... you could put 4 tires easily and go to track days.
A beautiful little car, same for BRZ, they are impossible to find on a car lot. Would be nice to have a test drive before purchase. Enjoy yr 86! Looks like fun!
They look exact same like my old frs except they changed the tailights and interior cauges just like mustangs same exterior design wish they would do something more on the 2023 make it more concept design and premium packaging the last one they made looks exactly the same like 2020
Sick car bro, the dealer I reserved mine from only had the steel color inbound, I wanted halo white originally but hey 🤷♂️ screw it, it was the soonest one I could get. I should get mine in 2-3 days. Also premium trim and manual transmission is the only way to get the GR 86! You were right in the video haha. Congratulations man!

I must be one of the few people who like the design of the first gen more. They certainly have seemed to have fix the weak performance issues with this new gen, but I like the old styling better
You thinking about putting any kits on? I've been looking at a bodykit recently that is a concept by TOM'S. Its got enough without taking away from the design of the car.
Nice, thinking of getting one as I think it's a good replacement for my s2000's that I sold 3-4 years ago, had a gt4 and a couple of 911's since then but, I think I want to get a gr86 for track purposes.
Congrats. Im picking mine up today. I was really debating to go for the red or pavement gray but as you stated it looks orange in the sunlight hence i decided to go with the gray.
