Any advice on how to make sure you don't do the same thing Subaru did? It would be an awful place to have an oil leak- right onto the exhaust manifold. Might be part of the reason they overdid the sealant.
I think its application specific, I installed Tein Flex Z on my old MR2 and they came with specialised end links (which was good because my old ones were corroded to hell lol)
The loss of torque can be from removing the resonator that’s connected to the intake pipe. The HKS intake pipe lets you reconnect the stock resonator for this reason. Great results and I’m going to get the HKS air filter for my BRZ.
You could not be more right about the unwanted attention! Extremely frustrating. You know that the encounter will involve ignorance of some sort, guaranteed...wish there was an easy way to express that I don't care about a car scene.
You would get a lot more views if you cut the excessively long and annoying introduction. We want to hear your review, not watch your GR86 driving slowly with annoying music! Just saying....
Glad to hear someone mention 'unwanted attention' as a con. People will either want to race, or they'll want to drive it and drift it (even Consumer Reports drifted the FRS when it came out). Drifting is why I'll buy a new one, but not a used one. Not much I can do if the mechanics abuse the car when I bring it in for service though. The other thing is the possibility of it being stolen. There are (former?) drug users in my neighborhood. Drug users are always short on cash, so I might have been better off with a Civic.
i purchased some sound deadening sheets (Siless 80-mil)from Amazon. I installed the sheets in the luggage area, spare-tire well, under the seats, floor area between the center tunnel, inner door panels and one rear quarter panel (ran out of material) of my 240Z. The sheets lowered the road noise and only added 18-pounds to the car's weight. I also purchased a plastic roller to install the sound deadening sheets. It was a lot of work, but well worth it.
First class install video. Currently no splash guards available in UK. Bought aftermarket from USA via Amazon. Guards were OK but fault with the longreach spirenut - hole was at the wrong end. All fitted now, just took extra time. Thanks again for great video.
I test drove one of these the other day and I really want one, but I fear that I'll get bored of it quickly. Mind you, I've never owned anything all that fast, but this car really feels like it's choking for more air and I think that the boxer engine might be the culprit. I get that they wanted the lower center of gravity, but they could have managed with an i4 built specifically with this chassis in mind. 😬
