Your what’s inside RU-vid channel is the one channel that started this all, but for you to leave it in the dust and just abandon the channel makes me and probably everyone sad. And over half of the videos you post on the “what’s inside family” should’ve been posted on the “what’s inside” RU-vid channel. And you would think that a RU-vid channel with the name “what’s inside family” would be all about family, NOPE the exact opposite for most the videos, which is why I believe you should think hard “should this video be posted on the family channel or should it be posted on the what’s inside channel.” To sum this up you should post more on the whats inside channel “the one that started it all” because you have more subscribers on that channel which in return will give you more views. Hello everybody! The car with new 4680 batteries does not have any problems with the quality of assembly: the details fit perfectly, all the gaps between the panels are excellent, the paint is done conscientiously, the same applies to the interior.

Fascinating video and interesting that people tear down cars and then other car manufacturers investigate to get theirs better.

I first found out about them from the Rivian Amazon van launch event, and I'm blown away by what they do.

There is one very obvious problem with all these battery cells inside that foam, and that is saying goodbye to the possibility to replacing single cells, instead of the whole battery, if a single cell should happen to fail. I have had EVs since 2002, and am quite disappointed about the humanity not managing to mandate the right to repair through legislation which when it lacka - both makes our phones less repairable because of DRMed parts, and EVs not so sustainable, as a new battery is priced to more than the price for a new car. EVs can be made really modular and easy to fix, instead we are looking at a John Deere Scheme, in a larger degree, especially with Tesla. Tesla may be a cool car, with advanced technology, however the customers service and rights is no good at Tesla’s, so noone who barely affords a Tesla, should buy a Tesla, but rather some other EV, and obviously look for the brands that are less hostile to their customers when something needs to be repaired. Which is an advice for buying any modern electronic product, really.

They have never improved the batteries that well the mileage is still not as good as the 1800 battery pack in the first electric car it would go a thousand miles on a charge but they've never improved it than that matter of fact it went downhill the 500 or less

so if you get volts right...why not replace the batteries of an old hybrid car with 4680 cells? should increse the range of the car quite good! or will the computers detect that something is wrong?

Folks, if you like peace of mind about your battery (longevity & safety), for years to come, just charge your EV between 30% - 70% (and do 90% - 100% when going for a long Road Trip). (I own Tesla S & X, and I'm an Electrical Engineer) * High temperatures kill batteries. If you go on a holiday/vacation during the summer, leave your vehicle at a low SOC (state of charge). For example, at or below 30% SOC * Cycle within a narrow SOC range. For example: 40-60% rather than 10-80%. The cathode expands and contracts in a wider SOC range, which causes it to break apart. * On that note: The lower the narrower the SOC range, the better. That means charging frequently. * Avoid charging the vehicle above 75% SOC. Above 75% side reactions start occuring that cause degradation. This also reduces the volume expansion issues mentioned * Taking all variables into account, operating between 45-70% SOC, and storage at ~30% is ideal. * Occasional high SOC and wide SOC range are okay! For example, the occasional road trip. * With good thermal management hardware and battery management software, supercharging should have minimal negative effects on cycle life But even y'all will not follow those tips. The battery will not die tomorrow. it is just that there are some small (or big) consequences later on. Have a great day!

I am a huge Tesla fanboy too! I actually had the opportunity to work for SpaceX with my 210ft supply vessel before the Falcon 9 was landing itself. We were supposed to pick it up with a crane and bring it back to Cape Canaveral Florida.

This is basically a very common method the CHINESE EV makers do as their RnD!

Those batteries really look like "ecology"... especially when I think of a toxic waste when they're done. Multiply it by the number of vehicles that need a replecement battery each 5 - 7 years and in 20 years we will have an REAL problem, nothing like a Co2.

Just hoping there will be no bug company that will buy off this place or sue these guys for exposing their products secrets

Those batteries will improve everything in the PEV world. A few new Hyper scooters are using them now.

Can you do a video on what happens with older batteries? Do they get recycled? Wonder if electric cars are trading one problem gas pollution for e-waste caused by old used lithium-ion?

Musk is a genius. I think he's a mixture of Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, and Wernher von Braun.

"show me a guy in any company that can take his place" well certainly a person who has great cars/engineering and runs his company excellently would be Mate Rimac.

Once, and maybe several times in a generation, we have known great inventors. We had Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. Now we have Elon Musk and James Dyson. There are probably more. Did you know Henry Ford and Edison collaborated on and electric car? Look it up. Ford was building a car and Edison was trying for a lighter long lasting battery. Though to my knowledge only one prototype was made. Edison's battery did prove usefull in other electric cars of the era. An example was seen on RU-vid in Jay Leno's garage for the Baker Electric.

Best technology from a car company, but worst build quality ever. Next time, Borrow Sandy's 4680 knee pads, Elon will love you for it.

I've followed the 4086 and knew it was going into the cyber. I'm so confused why the cyber's range is only 250 miles where many other ev cars do much better.

The people who are advocating and promoting the EVs as good for the environment and energy efficient are not right, they are wrong. Each EV battery requires 200 tons of fossil fuel mining to produce the raw materials, the EV's don't last as long as internal combustion engine cars either and these batteries are not easily recycled at this time. China the world's largest EV maker, burns more coal than the rest of the world combined and they are building more coal fired power plants. The power has to be generated, transmitted via power lines to charge EV batteries, much less efficient than petrol cars. So EVs aren't energy efficient or as environmentally friendly petrol cars. The government and the manufacturers are selling EVs dishonestly.

Good to know that in the near future these environmentally friendly car batteries will all be "recycled" on a beach in a poor country, such as India, Bangladesh or Pakistan. No issues. A win for all. The future is "green".

hahha, all of these stuff are just hardware, no soul. While you can feel the engine of SUV because of its sound. like a software talking to human being. EV just a hardware, a mean to transport like a bus, train. You have no feeling with them, right?

Having the batterypack constructed like that doesnt that meen repair of the pack is impossible? compared to the older that has multible battery cells that can be exchanged if needed? so basicly a bad move for second hand repair

Elon has proved you can make cars here for the same or less overseas by just using innovation to lower costs and labor you can now get fully American made ev cars ten years ahead of the competition for 40 k or less that have been shown to go 200k miles with minor repairs go America go we are the best period
