More like 30 degrees. But props to you though. That's one hell of a run! That run is super steep and super icy and super narrow the whole time. It's hard to believe they had a poma running up that thing. Great skiing too!
yeah dude. the pitch isn't even the half of it. it was wind exposed and icy af. I slipped and had to cut over just around the crown of the head wall. every one ahead of me slipped and almost fell or did fall. it was quite windy most of the time as well. much much more open than the current growth would lead you to believe. as far as how steep it actually though? no steeper than the summit poma at Hickory Hill. The problem was how slick the ski lines were. gawd I'll never forget getting pulled for 10' on my stomach. so embarrassing. 😆
The old poma was the best. You could lap Giant Killer over and over and over. And it was also great on those windy days when the summit chair was on wind hold. Too bad they took out the lift.
Scariest steep wise? Probably Prima Cornice at Vail or something in the snowfields area Sugarloaf or at Sugarbush. Scariest risk wise? Probably Busted at Pico.
Upper Starr for me. I don't personally enjoy runs that are so steep that you're not really "skiing" (carving). not a fan of jump turning. that said, after the head wall, Upper Starr was also the most fun I've had outside of Canada and Mad River for mogul busting.
