Thanks guys your discussion is breath of sanity in explaining this Pidcock Strava report which has caused many commentators online to make stupid comments along the line that Pidcock will now beat all the top GC climbers in the TDF.
So the question is, was he paced up the climb? Seems way too fast even for 6.7w/kg. Power profile is very smooth, so maybe no Ineos train. Motor pacing perhaps? But why would he be motorpaced on a climb during a camp? Do you think he may have faked his numbers (under-reported them or the powermeter just underreads)?
@@WattPolice I think we would have seen a much bigger power spike followed by a threshold effort if he was simulating a race. Here he just goes VO2 for the final minute. I think he was just motorpaced though that also seems unlikely to me since he made a point of naming the ride "sa calobra KOM". It's not like his ability to get it from Laverack was ever in doubt so why would he be motorpaced up it?
