Janis Joplin's take on "Piece of My Heart" absolutely captivated me as a kid. I was obsessed with her records and loved singing this song any chance I got.
Fast forward many years to today -- WG Snuffy Walden and I are playing it for YOU!

That guitarist is none other than THE Snuffy Walden who has had Grammy nominations garnered Emmy awards for theme music he produced for The West Wing, The Wonder Years, Thirty Something, Roseanne and many more. Sara's talent is BEYOND. She's even more amazing in person so if you see they are coming to your country/city make sure you go see them!

I think the good thing is that she is famous enough to make a decent living out of her music at this point. And yet she still can have a normal life without bodyguards and crazy stalker fans. And even if she might personally hope for riches and fame I really doubt that she would be happier that way. So for her sake, I hope she remains just as famous as she is.

Two reasons, 1. She has real talent. 2. The girl can flat out sing. Just like Joe Bonamassa, industry people and music lovers know them, and they won't let the labels grind them up and spit out clones of whatever is selling. They do what's in their hearts, and we get to enjoy it.

So happy I stumbled across this. I was but a 17-18 year old lad when Janis released this. I never believed anyone could properly cover this song. Dear lord! Sara, you owned this song. A great tribute. A beautiful, passionate rendition. I do hereby endorse this cover.

This has to be one of the hardest songs for any woman to cover. You can not just sing this song, you have to wail it to do it justice. It has to be a feeling conveyed to words. I felt it. Excellent job.

Couldn't agree more! There's no pretense, no affectation, just herself giving it all that she has. I'd like to think that she doesn't take herself too seriously, but she takes her work very seriously.

This is just soo beautiful! I looove how they straightened it out without loosing the core of it! This piece is so owned by Joplin. Kudos to this singer for finding her own version without leaving the mood and tone that Joplin established to it. Listening to this version I hear so much love, respect and understanding for Joplin. I wish she could hear it.

My eyes lit up when I saw this cover. I knew it was going to be good, but it exceeded my expectations. Just another fine example that the world belongs to Sarah! She can take that voice anywhere she wants, it keeps getting better and better, I LOVE THIS RENDITION OF AN ALL TIME CLASSIC. You did it justice Sarah, and then some. Keep it rolling.

I hardly believed that somebody could sing a convincing cover version of this song without the "road worn" voice of Janis Joplin as little as covering Ian Gillan in "Child in Time", but Miss Niemetz obviously made this squaring the circle. One of the most talented contemporary female singers at the moment, also because she sings with her heart and her soul. Just, how it should be. Thank you for this beautiful performance! This is real music and not what you hear in the Top Ten! Wherever.
