8:22 The sheer insanity of a Z project never ceases to hit me like car crash. No matter how many times I see him do something insane, there's still always the "wait.... .WHAT" reaction
It's amazing that Zisteau is one of the few people to play this modpack, and release semi regular content when other creators say "I filmed 10 hours and got 1 minute of footage." It's just such a Zisteau vibe to commit to this, and I'm here for it.
To be fair, I doubt most people have computers that can manage the load for a longer playthrough. There's a reason Zisteau optimized his power plant for 'lag' instead of 'building cost' or 'upkeep cost'.
The part where you were explaining everything made me buckle down and lose my shit, can't wait for more. Love the amount of effort you put in for each video! Thank you for all that you do!!
Last year I spent about 200 hours on a space exploration game. I got to about this point and gave up. I felt like I had already done so much work, and yet only had two off world bases preparing materials. Hope you can pull it off, you’re doing great so far, loving this series!
I can't play SE for too long before getting to that point. It helps to put it down now and then and come back to it when you're feeling refreshed. I did this for about 2.5 years with the mod, slowly getting into deep space science..... and then the latest update hit and broke my entire base. Soooooo.... I packed up some shit for a 1-way trip to another star system across the local cluster and started over with the new update from there. Will see if I take another 2 years to get that far
During work I received the notification that both this video got uploaded and a new Etho Hermitcraft video. The latter used to be my favorite series, the one I looked forward to being uploaded the most. I clicked this one first. Your Factorio gameplay is officially my favorite series now, dude! Thanks for all the effort you always put into this.
Hey Z - I was a HUUUUUUGE fan of the Lynx-O Skyrim series, and also your Minecraft stuff. I'm not really into Factorio but I'm super happy to see you are still around!
Every time I see a factorio video from you Zisteau it makes me smile. I would never play this game, it is way too complicated for me. Watching how you figure all this out is awesome!
The amount of brain power always amazes me considering I'm playing 200hrs of factorio. The quality of these videos are just too much. Thank you Zisteau ❤️ Ps: That nuclear power set up though
this is the part that I always get stuck at in space exploration. Building enough output of all the special space exploration stuff. I usually try to spaghetti it out and that never works fast enough
my fav way to deal with the recycled outputs is to put them back on the belt and have the main infeed of materials side-feed the belt so that it always uses the recycled stuff in priority over the new materials coming in
I really have no idea what is going on. The last time I saw factorio it was a game about building a factory with base defense. Still it's nice to hear Zed's voice and see his unique over the top style.
A better programmer than I (or perhaps one who has worked with video games) might be able to derive interesting information about the construction robots' AI from that time lapse. That was mesmerizing
My entire base is the size of the just the circuit/module section haha, I'm at the tipping point of having to push through to get logistics network stuff to make it much easier...but I'm playing with Space Ex + Krastorio 2 which...ugh haha
I shorted one of the "pipe reactor" from the start since it was not strictly needed (I think ?) and used robot for fuel delivery expect that I didn't find other improve.
I am worried about the nuclear reactors trying to wait for fuel causing more lag, maybe you can add a mod that makes dummy nuclear reactors that just spread heat
Some awesome designs for the SE metals there, although they don't look like the latest version, so be careful about updating. How does the combinator-heavy approach you use for Iridium etc al compare with using belts with filter splitters wrt UPS ??
filter splitters would probably be better for UPS, not sure. I honestly don't remember why I didn't build it that way, might have been too annoying with speed/prod 7s, or I just didn't think of doing it that way.
For the circuits in the modded plates, could you use two stack filter inserters, one dedicated to each material, and wire them to the buffer chests to only be active if there are less than 100 of the particular material in the chest?
Is it not possible you have 5x5 Reactors and middle are Free for a unterground belt (so 24 reactors total) and if you have diagonal arms (there are a mod to do this) you can feed the blockt 4 diagonal reactors? So 4 reactors are supported for 4 sides instead of three.
We're watching the result of many hours of planning and figuring out stuff. By now it's just a matter of placing the designs and not interesting to watch for me.
