PIEMONTE is exceptional. Most tourists overlook it. It is where my roots are. Wines, cuisine,UNESCO recognized make it superb. A very healthy place to live with great architecture too. If you value quality, then this is for you.❤ Thank you. Be sure to learn Italian!😁
As soon as we are released from “protective custody” and allowed to travel overseas again Piedmont Italy will be our first port of call, greetings from Australia 🇦🇺 👋
Beautiful Video ❤️ I think the pandemic and economic crisis have taught people the importance of multiple streams of income, unfortunately having a job doesn't mean financial security. I really appreciate the transparency and giving people a fighting chance during these troubling times.
Forex trading and stock investments are really profitable, now is the best time to take advantage of the market and earn a lot. And of course to do that you need the help of a professional.
Thank you so much for your response. I have many questions concerning Forex trading and stock investments. I really want to make huge investments in both so I'd like to know if you could recommend a Professional Investment manager that would be able to guide me properly and also help me manage my investment.
Ciao!
Outstanding video, my friend. I have been looking at Italian real estate for a number of years now. I was born in Italy and lived in Aosta till the age of 15 when my parents decided to move to Australia. Unfortunately I lost my Italian citizenship. I'm in my mid 50s now and am truly considering to buy real estate and return home. I visited Piemonte in 2015 for the first time and liked the area but didn't get a chance to visit all provinces. Your video clarifies it for me. Can't wait to come back home.
Thank you Pietro! I am planning on doing a lot more but the market has been so busy here. I am making plans - even bought a red, Italian sports car for the job! Any excuse - my wife says... ;-) Italians say we all come home eventually. I'm three generations back Italian but only this place feels like home. Hope to see you in the future! We'll drink some vino together 🙂
@@audas At the time we couldn't have both citizenships. I had to follow what my parents wanted to do to stay in Australia. So I had to renounce the Italian citizenship. I was too young to understand the implications and the meaning of my actions. Inexcusable nevertheless.
@@pietro4772 Ah ok. You can definitely take that back up immediately. Your parents are italian so you can get an EU passport immediately. Very lucky - I would love that.
@@audas I have obtained birth certificates from my dad's line right back to my grandfather to prove we were all born in Italy. It is of no use. Citizenship is not available to those that renounced it. I would need to live there for 12 months and reapply.
Love Italy, the people, the wines and everything related. We did the "pin" on the map, and combined with my wine enthusiasm this is the obvious region to find a new home
I had hoped to add my 3rd video by now but I've been so busy. The property market is crazy at the moment and everything is selling fast. I have started recording an interview with an American couple that have paid a deposit on a house and will take possession in a few weeks - they've never been to Piedmont before! It's a great story and I'm sure you'll find it inspiring. Please look out for it! Richard
Wine and Hiking!! I'm sold!! :) I had met an Italian who highly recommended me to visit the Langhe valley and Turin. I have always felt that Italy is one country that once I visit will make me want to go back again and again. I plan on visiting next year for a month. Can't wait to explore the beautiful country. Could you please share information on Seasonal Allergies? Here is the Midwest of America I get severe allergies in the Fall (3-4 weeks of misery) due to the Goldenrod/Ragweed flowers blooming everywhere. How is it in your region? I would be highly interested in a 2-3 bedroom Farmhouse. I will keep checking your website and even contact you if I see anything that i might be interested. Thank you for the great info!
Great video! I bought a house in one of the villages you listed in Monferrato and have been living here full time since June 2020. It must be the best decision I ever made, and as you mention in your video I also chose the area quite arbitrarily when I came for my first visit. But it was love at first sight. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Simon! Happy you love it here. Me too! Working on the next video. Any comments about how you found the buying process will be much appreciated. Richard
@@langheproperty Well I don't know how representative my experience was, but I found it far easier than buying in the UK. I sold my property in the UK to move here so this wasn't a second home, which obviously meant lower taxes. And it seems here that it really is about getting in with the right agent and having the right assistance. I noticed you mention this in one of your videos and it was our experience too. Had we not been lucky in that respect I imagine it would have been a lot harder. I was warned about the process here - the spectre of 'Italian bureaucracy' looms large! I have had my moments with it... but UK bureaucracy around property is also a nightmare. I didn't find the process here any worse. One of the things I really admire about the process is that when your offer is accepted its basically a done deal even if it takes months to go through. In the UK the constant fear of losing the house is so deeply affecting and so unnecessary! But you don't have that here. All in all, it was 3 months from first viewing to getting the keys, which I was managing remotely from Barcelona... but as I mentioned - we may have been lucky!
@@simonfoxalllondon Hi Simon, thanks! It's a good perspective. Yes, it's true, once the deal is done it's done. We've never had seller's pull out of a sale. As long as the house is correct with the land registry things are usually very smooth and quick. Thanks again and I hope you continue to enjoy your house here for a very long time!
Ah Torino, yes. It's fantastic but it's a good idea to go with someone that knows it well. It's easy to get lost in the bad parts and miss what is fantastic. I was there on Sunday and I love to visit.
I absolutely loved this video and you were a great host. I am going to look you up before I visit there and look around in October. I found your video very informative and didn't realize how beautiful this part of Italy was. Just to let you know the links below did not work for me. It says page not found. Maybe it's just my computer? I subscribed and will be back soon.
Hi Petunia, thanks so much for your comments! I'm happy you found the video useful. It is a beautiful part of Italy. I will check the links. The video is 'old' and things change so thank you for letting me know. Hope to see you here!
Thank you for this informative video! How is it around Acqui Terme and Ovada? I saw a restored farmhouse and it looks beautiful, but I don't know the area.
Thanks for this enthusiastic video about Piemont. It’s my favorite region and have been visiting the area for many years. Even have been searching for houses there. Seen many! Finally decided not to do and only visit during our holidays. After seeing this video you make me a kind enthusiastic again haha. Anyway gonna visit you’re site. Ti auguro una buona giornata e buona fortuna per il tuo lavoro. saluti dai Paesi Bassi, Hans
That's great!! This year (2022) is going to be a huge turning point for Piemonte - house prices will be as high as Tuscany by the end of the year. It's heading that way.
Great video! In the area and interested in day reconnaissance trips from Turin. Thinking 3 of your favorites…Where do you recommend we check out..? Thanks!
Canadian wants to retire in Piedmont. Any legal issues to establish here? Would buy some reasonable property for cash ~250 000 USD Any advise? Thanks. Steven
Hello ! We live in southern california where there are all kinds of olive trees , vinyards( used to be rather ) and such , so we are used to seeing it. Seems like the peidmont area would be a perfect fit for us , as we own our own home and the sale price of it would most defiantly buy a nice place . We have money from pension plans and such coming in , so the money from the house wouldn't be all we would have . But ... there are things to consider such v h as closeness to medical care , ( we are in our late 60's ) , property rights , water rights , ect . Of course , we really wouldn't want to spend all the money from sale of our home here on a p.ace there . We'd like to keep some of that in reserve .
Ah sorry! It's a huge area so to take on houses in the lower ranges is not easy and a perfect way to stay broke. You do well to find houses with local agents then get some good expert advice! ;-)
I just stumbled upon your channel. Love you content. Could you cover the province of Biella? This city/province is also know for textiles and great wines and food too. Many high fashion brands have roots here. I was born there but never grew up in Italy. Biella has beautiful places too, Lago do cicerone, Santuario di Oropa, etc.
Thanks Mo! Yes, you are right, Biella is beautiful but I already get so busy here so can't cover all area. Maybe in the future I will try. It's a great idea. Where did you grow up? OK, we're guys, we never do, but you know what I mean ;-)
I would like to meet you in Piemonte. I am looking for a place to stay for about 3000 a month. Can you suggest what site to use for a month rental. I am looking for a central location I guess near Asti. I have been to this area several times and stayed in Treiso.
The weather is good. This year is the hottest we've seen since being here. We might get one week of hot weather but this year it's been 3 weeks. But we survive. The winters are milder now. There was a change 3-4 years ago. We used to get snow but now hardly any. Autumn is always fantastic. I love the weather here, but be cautious, I'm from England..! But seriously, it is great. The south of Italy is wonderful but too hot and north of the Alps is totally different.
Hi very nice informative video , we are planning to move in several years after the oldest son finishes his high school, we also have 2 years son , which area you would suggest for a children ? Is there some activities there for children? Good schools?
Yes, plenty for children. Our son was 6 years old when we moved from the UK and he loved growing up here and will never leave. Look around the towns of Asti and Alba. Thanks for the positive comment...!! Appreciated..!
Hi Richard, love the video. Piedmont recently caught my eye. I’ve got a young family, they live in the U.K. I live and work in the Middle East. What is your take on moving a young family to the region, schooling, lifestyle etc? We would like to move away from.the rat race a bit and away from an increasingly, undesirable, U.K. Any advice greatly appreciated.
Sorry guys! Been so busy. Yes, we did the same! Our son was 6 when we came here. We thought it was a good move for us. I never miss the UK for a single second and we're so glad we got our son out. Lifestyle is great. Good weather, food, etc. People are easier going. We had a problem with one school, a couple of the teachers were terrible, but someone local did some homeschooling for 6 months and it was fine. Hope this helps!!
Thanks Richard, for this very helpful video! I've watched it for the second time now, did a lot of online research and narrowed my search down. My preferred area to purchase is now in Asti province, in the cities that you list on your video. I'll keep watching your videos, hoping to find the new ones soon that explain the purchase process. Many thanks!
Do you recommend the city of Alessandria? Between Asti and Alessandria, what factors would you consider? The train routes are super important. Thank you
It's a good question! Honestly, I don't know the answer. No one talks about Alessandria with any passion or recommends visiting it. It has a lot of industry. We've been invited for lunch there next week, so we will see it for the first and I'll be happy to report back on our findings.
Richard thank you to a so marvelous video. I want to retiree in Italy. I am so curiously about Piedmont. Moving along and want a small farmhouse 3/2 no more. Love a good land and very quite place with mountain etc etc. Wanting to growing vegetables and keep a dog with me. I am originally from Venezuela and live in USA, for almost 40 years. Thanks ☺️ Richard ❤❤
Thank you Nelly! I'm working on new videos - shot one last night and will do another today. Check my Website, I just got something for €200k that fits your needs perfectly I think. Richard.
What about buying in Turin? The center is beautiful. We'd like to be able to walk to cultural events, restaurants, etc., and drive to the mountains and countryside.
Love your video. We want to buy a house in Piemonte. Your informatienummer helps us maake the right choice. We also prefer the provincies of Curneo and Asti. The central locaties allowed you to optimale enjoy thr Piemonte.
Hi Brian, Casale Monferrato? I concentrated on the most popular parts of Piedmont for foreign buyers and I couldn't cover everything and I don't know every part. Piedmont is big. You should make a video about it if it's close to your heart. I'd love to hear about it from someone that knows it well.
Hi Jai, taxes aren't so straight forward. It depends on if you have residency or not and the land registry value of the property, not according to how much you pay for it. I think you will find in my online guide it states to add around 10% to cover taxes and other purchase costs. I hope this helps! Richard
@@langheproperty What Monferrato and Cuneo offer is unique ... mountain walking, skying, easy day trip to Monaco Montecarlo as well as historical places all around Monferrato .... let us not forget the Langhe offer extraordinary food and wine
Ah we love the walks - sorry you didn't find anything. I walk my dog every day in the hills. Landowners very rarely fence off their properties and don't mind people walking through. There are many walk trails in the Langhe, here in the Roero it's amazing, and the Monferrato is incredible. We walk regularly with our son that lives there, north of Asti. Lots of tourists. On Easter Monday we couldn't get into a restaurant anywhere in Langhe. We eventually got into La Coccinella in Serravalle Langhe, they set up a table for us in their bar as they were fully booked for lunch. The winding road I guess is normal in hilly areas, but it depends on what part you're in too. Sorry, you didn't enjoy it!
While on holiday a few years back, we stayed in Mombercelli and fell in love with it. We became fast friends with our B & B host and are still in contact with them. If I were going to move to Italy I would definitely consider this area! Thanks for the great video and the memories :-)
True!! Nice places indeed. It's just us foreign buyers prefer the hills around Alba and Asti but these nice towns shouldn't be overlooked. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Thanks for the explanations in your video! Can you tell us more about the weather in the 3 areas you mentioned please? We come from Malta and would like to get away from the unbearable hot summers but dont want super harsh winters on the other hand. Thanks
Thanks for watching! The weather is the same in the 3 regions. There will be variations depending on altitude but not much. I'm from the UK and love the weather here. My father was from Malta! We did think of moving there but the weather and lack of space were big factors. I like to drive fast! ;-)
@@langheproperty thanks a lot for your insight. Wisest decision you could make then!! We're so overpopulated now that there's traffic congestion all over the island everyday at any time!!
Hi Kristi, thanks! No sorry, I don't know them. There are so many wineries to explore here and I haven't come across Barbero. I know many others. I'll put it on my list of places to discover!
Great vid Richard , very informative. I am solo from Cornwall in the uk , 58 and have just retired and have been investigating on idealista a one or two bed apartment to rent in Turin . I picked Turin as it is close to the alps for skiing which is my favourite thing to do while I can ,I also enjoy cycling and walking . As I am solo I would like I think to be in the city unless you think otherwise . One major spanner in the works , Brexit freedom of movement. Really appreciated.
Hi Norm, thanks for your positive comments! I would suggest not buying in Turin. It's a great place to visit but not so good to live in, unless you really love the things bigger cities offer and can put up with the noise, pollution, etc. I would suggest somewhere like the city of Cuneo or Mondovì. Much nicer to live in and much closer to the ski resorts. Mondovì is one of my favourite towns in the area and is beautiful. There you'll only minutes from skiing. Ahh Brexit... we already had residency, of course, being here so long, but it won't make things easier. The Italian government has a good understanding with Italy so it shouldn't change too much. Hope this helps!
Hello! I was wondering if you could help me. My grandpa told us he was from a small farm above Genoa where he worked at the shipyards. His last name was Sito and heard it was by Turin. Is it or was it a town or farm? And how far is it from a hospital? I would love to live there where my ancestors lived. Could you send an up to date list of homes for sale it's just me? I also read that I could apply for duel citizenship because of my grandpa. When you get a chance please let me know. Ciao, Luisa
Just found you here. Very interesting. Thank you. I visit Cereseto, Moncalvo and the Basso Langhe often. It is really so beautiful. Although I am still a big fan of la Toscana 🙂

Has to be through a bank, no other way. On the day of the deed signing you pay with a bank's draft. It is possible to pay with a wire transfer but notaries don't like doing it. Thanks!!
Fantastic and articulate video - could not be more informative. This has really opened my eyes as I’ve never looked more north than Tuscany to consider a property-purchase. But it’s just as charming and rural but well kept and elegant. Ital-franco-Germanic vibes..best of each in one package.
Nothing!!! Flat land is great but most buyers want to buy places in the hills for relaxation, not to buy a farm. Also, much of the flat land is grain or even rice so a lot of spraying and mosquitoes.. Thanks!!
Thanks for this - I was interested in skiing and accessing the French Alps from Italy by car. So centrally located for that would be Aosta. Is there any information anyone can point me too for things I need to consider?
I'm not a skier - far too lazy and scared! But experts tell me there are 20 resorts within 90 mins of this area. You have a big choice. I'll see if I can find more info.
@@langheproperty Thanks. We are basing around Aosta. But my wife tells me it is a bland town. I was wondering the valleys run East-West - and the sun is in the south - is it better to have the sun on your back and be on the south or the north of the valley. Also how strict are the local police with kids on electric bikes to get into town?
