Welcome to the Pier City Cycles Tutorial Series. In these videos, we hope to show you a range of jobs or mods that you can carry out on your BMW R9T or R18. We hope to cover those simple jobs which new owners might not feel confident in asking, all the way through to the signature mods we use to transform our builds.
In this tutorial, we'll show you how to change the engine oil correctly on your BMW R nineT. This is a vital part of motorcycle ownership and the R9T has quite a specific procedure to follow. It often feel like a daunting job for the first-timer, but it's genuinely a very easy task once you get stuck in. BMW quote that a new bike can use up to 1 litre per 1000 miles so it's really important to keep an eye on the oil level.

I love your content, you’ve helped me make decisions on my bike and helped me make it my own and I’ve done so much using your videos….but stupid question, can you do a tutorial on how to change the grips? I see them done but I can’t for the life of me find a decent source for how. Please and thank you! Keep making beautiful bikes!

Great video! I am installing an aftermarket exhaust on my 2023 bmw r nine t and with this being a new gen, the cat comes with an O2 sensor. I am wondering what you can do to either trick this sensor or place it is farther down the piping.

There is no way of tricking the system unfortunately. The third o2 sensor and integral flap means you would need to replace the whole header system and as well as use a servo buddy. Hey guys! I've watched almost all of your tutorial videos. Your explanations are great but your videos often fail to show what it is exactly that you're doing. This is super important in a tutorial video. You need more B-roll that matches what you're saying and actually shows what you're talking about or working on at that moment. Your camera man often simply shows you working on a bike from afar - heck sometimes from behind or from the other side of the bike! - when they should be filming a close-up of whatever you're unscrewing or manipulating with your hands or tools. Unfortunately, this is simply not the case in many of your tutorial videos. I'd go as far as suggesting that you should consider redoing most of your tutorial videos because it's a bummer really to see an almost perfect video ruined by a lack of B-roll that should show the most important part.
