Out there in grand haven it looks like. I’m from Muskegon and fish the Whitehall pier most of the time when I’m not in the white river.

Thinking about heading up to the west side to try pier fishing. As far as tackle goes, any recommendations? I mainly creek fish for pretty panfish and bass in smaller ponds but I’ve been wanting to haul in a meal before the ice!

Can’t tell ya the exact pier, but every single pier on the west side of the state gets whitefish this time of the year. Fish the one closest to you👍

Never caught one bro. How do they fight? Not as intense as a Stealhead i imagine. But what would you compare it's fight to?? Great work 💯

When hooked in the mouth they don’t fight that much, just a few head shakes as they come to the surface.

Nothin too crazy, kinda like a bass but they might go on a small lil run or 2. Fun fish to jig tho and they sure taste good

What type/test line are you using? Someone told me they are line shy but I hadn't heard that before. I'm using 30# braid so I can get my lures back from the rocks.

Braid mainline is definitely recommended. We use 8-10lb flouro leaders 👍
