This is my first ever video and learned a lot for future episodes. Timing was tough when it comes to fishing! So was focusing in low light. I'm gonna make better videos so stay tuned!
LESSON ON THIS TRIP: If one method doesn't work, try another. Even ones that hasn't worked before!
So I went to Redondo Beach Pier and fished there and gave everything I've got with my gf. Usually, I get so much fish that I release most of it and lose count. This time it was different.
Normally the green light float with glow-in-the-dark shrimp sabiki with a bit of squid or shrimp gets the most bites here but barely got a nibble all night. There were two rods dedicated to sabikis and we tried 4 different kinds and none of them caught any. We had 2 rods with bait and only one rod was getting constant fish toward the end of the night once we switched up the high low rig. This was weird at best.
At the end of the night, though, we ended up catching 15 fish (on the one bait rod) and released 10. We kept five for future bait. OH! We also caught a large sea snail which was kinda cool. Wish we would've filmed that. AGAIN, we learned a lot and better videos are coming!!!
Anybody tried this pier? What's your rig and experience like? Got any tips and suggestions for catching anything OTHER than a mackerel?
