@@TheWelchProductions Daniel Craig gave off too much of the brawler vibe. He looked about as good and comfortable in a tux as a common street thug would. Sounds superficial but it’s not because wearing a tuxedo is less about clothing and more about a person’s status and belonging in the setting where it is being worn. And if that belonging is being faked, it’s got to be at least believed. With Craig, I never believed it. Craig’s portrayal was grittier. Maybe that’s the direction the Broccolis wanted to go and Craig got the part because Craig does not give off suave or class. It’s a “thing” that’s even alluded to in Casino Royale where Vesper picks out Bond’s suit initially because she says they need people to believe he belongs in that room. The audience is meant to feel like he was convincing but in reality Craig the actor never gets there for me. Meanwhile Brosnan and Connery? Done and done. Effortless, class, sophistication and sex appeal. Women betraying and leaving husbands…check. Women bedded within minutes…check. One liners delivered as cheeky and funny…check. That’s Pierce and Sean. They embodied all aspects of the character. Craig brought something “different” to his portrayal but not something “better” than what Pierce brought. What Craig did is manage not to suck as Bond and that was enough to get him through his tenure which was the longest I think. I’ll give him that. As far as box office, people love Bond, the character so much that as long as an actor doesn’t just murder the portrayal of the character, people will show up for whoever is wearing the tux at the moment, whether they wear it “well” or only “well enough”.

@@itslethalbro If you wanna see another side of him - a different role - I highly suggest the fantastic thriller SHATTERED (from 2007) with him, Maria Bello and Gerald Butler. Seriously good!

@@Shadowman820 He’s a great actor, which alone made him the best of the 90’s Batmen, but he still was never suited for the role in any definitive sense. There were plenty of great actors who could actually have fit the character of an athletic, tall, handsome, imposing, billionaire playboy, but he unfortunately wasn’t one of them. On the other hand, George Clooney could have been pretty perfect casting for the character, but the writing/directing/acting was so hammy in his Batman movie that it didn’t matter.
