I love this video, its from 2010, i remember watching it when i was in shanghai. This video really captures the vibe of the place then. Blindly optimistic about the future and obsessed with money. Also, people were not so shy to talk about the government. Things are so different now. Its a damn shame, but china always seems to have these kind of cycles..

wow this is very informative, i don't usually like piers morgan, but this is one time i have really enjoyed his journalism, good to see he didn't ignore the communist aspects, censorship, intellectual property theft, although he is wrong about the control, face recognition and social credit system the authorities are really tight now.

yeah its a thing in europe too actually. in croatia its called bambus, you use it to get drunk. im pretty sure they do it in poland to and I know a spanish guy who told me they do it aswell

Lived there. Air is polluted. Sewerage is anomic in Pusei. Putong is a little less stench. STD's an epidemic. The French Quarter is CHIC. Few KOOL swanky haunts. Xintande Club central. Brothels everywhere. Street food markets in abundance. Food poisoning guaranteed. Traffic everywhere. Car fume pollution unbearable. And that was in 2006. No idea what its like now? I imagine worse.

This video epitomises a complete lack of educated perspectives ; Piers Morgan rather boldly presents China in a narrative that's over-confident and decisively biased, with many instances that are totally out of historical and even empirical data; and the naive, hard working and unsuspected young Chinese ( born after the revolution ) sweetly went along answering to his framed questions. China focusing on archery and gymnastics wasn't being cunning,' (how rude and biased are those guests?) archery and gymnastics are traditional sports in China long before they were taken on in Europe and the Olympics.
