From their claim that he called all Mexicans “rapists,” Asylum seekers and immigrants “animals,” Black NFL players “SOBs” or the still repeated lie about “Nazis and White Supremacists being very fine people,” it’s been a deliberate assault to “condition” Americans to hate Trump. Just watching the 2016 results come in, with news anchors publicly hyperventilating and almost coming to tears, claiming the world was going to an end, was worthy of an Oscar. Academia even participated in the charade, as college professors cancelled midterm exams, bringing in therapy dogs, playdoh and crayons, as students howled at the moon, and pussyhats rallied and threatened to blow up the White House. It was one of the most surreal events in US history, and prime example of manufactured mass-hysteria that would continue for the next 8-years, infecting the minds of people like Destiny.

@@Etereys I agree that it's odd, but some people use the term "our democracy" to simply mean "what we vote for". Evidence is the times they say "damaging our democracy" which really just means "damaging our vote" which can mean all sorts of different things depending on who says it. As LFR stated near the end: Even if they have the wording right, they wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over the USA getting demolished, they are only using it as a cudgel because it's the one time conservatives got mad and staged a "real" protest. If conservatives really went on a riot, DC would be a glass floor in a few hours even IF nancy accepted the 10k troops. What happened that day was simply a reaction to naked corruption. Nothing more. Dems know that and pretend they don't.

@Danc3R4ve Yep. Telegram channels were literally overwhelmed in real time as it was happening too. Jan 6 is my bday, so I woke up to it and hopped on Telegram to be absolutely flooded with real-time updates by the second all day and for the next couple of days, at minimum. I remember not being able to keep up with it and not sleeping due to the never-ending updates. We saw the video cam footage in real-time as well as it was happening. I woke up to the nonsense around the year Bush Jr. got elected and Obama was the one that pissed me off all over again after his first year and especially in his final year and month. But I remember watching how the media spins everything when Ron Paul ran for president and how they treated him. So by the time Trump announced his first candidacy, I was already primed with that eye for the timing of events in particular.

It can easily be used as a tool to deceive people while narrowly avoiding court consequences and it's a slimy thing to do. "I didn't mean Democracy as in I want to change our political system to a direct democracy! If you know the context, I was clearly referring to..." is how the argument would go in court.
