You did it the other way around, brother. That's why the skin did not pop. The idea is to dry the skin, then fry (just like instant fish/squid crackers or "kropek" as we call it in the Philippines). Try this: 1. Boil the meat. After boiling, wipe with paper towel to remove excess water. 2. Cook it in the oven, skin side up, to remove moisture from the skin/meat. 3. Rest the meat after cooking. Wipe with paper towel to remove excess moisture. 4. Pour hot oil, and watch it pop.🙂 Good luck, Mr. Bulbul! Tagay!
The respect that I have for this gentleman is the fact that he has an open mind when it comes to trying different types of food from different cultures other than his home country. Not only is this entertaining, it also encourages to have the same mindset exploring new cultures/food from other parts of the world. Cheers! I'm drunk AF.
Just a tip, if you want to pour hot oil on pork skin wants to make it puff. I suggest after boiling it. Put it in the oven for 30-45 minutes to dry the skin. Cool it down then pour the hot oil. It will make the skin more puff and crispy. Try it. Would love to see you do it
