I've picked 2 waters to target for pike this winter - my local reservoir and a trout water that is on one of my club tickets. I've fished 3 sessions so far, the first on the trout water where I got hammered by trout on 8 inch deadbaits (I didn't know it had been stocked the day before!), and the 2nd session was on my local reservoir. On this trip I lost 2 fish after having them on for about 30 seconds and the other, which looked a good double, I managed to unhook with the landing net. This is the 3rd session, again on my local reservoir. A very cold, hard day but worth the effort.
