Not what I was planning on filming when I went out but the canal was way too coloured to fish so I ended up going to a small local river instead. Not the best conditions for it but still managed a few fish!

Nice video and great to see lure fishing in the Autumn when most anglers go onto dead baits. I know of a nice Pike canal in the south if you every fancy warmer temps. 😎

Big fish usually only come to deadbaits. Its rare to catch a 20 plus on lures.

My ten yr old and I watch your vids. On the one hand it's great as you catch so many fish. On the other we hardly ever catch. I think the problem is the Kennet - our local river - has been stripped of fish by the rogue foreigners who take all their fish home for tea as well as the resident crayfish AND cormorants. It all adds up to our once-fab river now being devoid of fish.

Same on our canal here at Stoke-on-Trent, I haven't been for 18 years and went last week and covered a huge patch. I was told by numerous fishers and people walking by that people have been taking pike from the pond to eat over the years. I only managed to get a few Jack's out in 8hrs over a huge portion of the canal I covered on foot.

I do spend a lot of time wincing waiting for you to get a couple of trebles in your hand while watching your vids. One bad head shake could end badly. Any reason you don’t use forceps or pliers? Enjoy the vids though 👍🏻

I alway flatten the barbs... You may loose a couple, but the important thing is you minimise any damage to the fish. Some of those catches looked a bit gruesome due to barbs.

I never used hooks I use sticky food bait so it cannot poison them whilst in the mouth, or harm them where hooks usually go

get a magnet for your net bro, put one on your bag and then one on the end of the net so it’s quick to pick up and stops the tangling

Nah, this isn't small, behind my house there is a small river, its wide like 5 meters and deep about half a meter. Biggest pike I caught there was long 1 meter. Its hard to imagine pike that big in a small river

Best pike fishing I do in UK is in sewers or drainage ditches which attach to canals & rivers. You could jump across them in places. There’s some big pike in these places pretty much just breeding and eating each other. I’ve tried fishing for other species but there’s hardly anything else in these places.

STOP putting your hands inside the pike mouth! i've said it b4 and i'll say it again.... it feels like you want to get hurt :D it hurts to watch xD feels like you will slip any sec or the pike will do something :P
