theres a blue ring around the health wheel which would seem to indicate its an effect that builds up as it takes damage.

@@michaelr3077 maybe being eaten fills up the gage faster, but they can still be frozen by attacking however it will be slower

I think they might balance it out with a lack of enemy drops. If it is indeed a treasure collection game like Pikmin 2, they may readjust the value of dead enemies to make them worthwhile, so you could beat all the enemies, but have nothing to show for it. I remain hopeful.

@RelativelyObjective I think things like walls dropping crystal-ly things when destroyed, it's safe to assume that pikmin 4 have a chance of being treasure based like pikmin 2. This is also backed up by the night segment with all the treasure looking things around. It could he a mode where you can get a lot of treasure but at great risk of all of the nocturnal creatures. But if they do drop less or no treasure upon defeat while iced, that balance relies heavily on how much treasure you get from defeating enemies normally. Not to mention you can potentially wait out the freeze timer and throw one pikmin to kill it and get rewarded.

That would make sense, perhaps they are stored in the ship like whites and purples?? I guess we just dont know yet

i think theres a scene in the trailer where the captain has red, yellow, and ice pikmin and the pellet posy goes from yellow to red meaning no ice onion and ice pikmin before blue pikmin

My guess is that you play 1 captain during days with oatchi, then night will give you 3 captains plus whatever pikmin are in the ship/ possibly a second master onion. Having the more powerful pikmin for night would make a lot of sense
