i recently read a book about the localization process for undertale in japan and toby said something to the effect of "when you google a lot of things that papyrus says, he's the first/only thing to come up because nobody else says things quite like he does" and when i heard grayfruit say "this motherfucker utilizes the tube" i think i came to like a vivid realization like in the spore creature stage when it zooms in on their brain and it grows by a tiny amount

I really do like the shift in direction, as Grayfruit mentioned. No longer is it "this game is gonna get harder and harder!" it's "Ok this game is kinda easy, you're definitely going to beat it, but how *good* can you get at beating it?"

I kinda understand the appeal but honestly I miss the stakes of the other games, it even with the get better approach there's just a lack of motivation to do more since you're not going to get anything that makes the game itself feel different.

I didn't even realize Pikmin 3 was a decade old when this came out, it felt like there was like 30 years between 2 and 3 and then like 2 between 3 and 4.

It might be because the graphical difference between 2 and 3 was much greater than that of 3 and 4, the Wii U and the switch look much more similar than the Wii U and the Gamecube.

Literally the entire reason I haven't changed to a USB keyboard/mouse/headset is because I know that I'll keep forgetting to charge it and then I'll just start plugging it in all the time and then I'll just have a comically expensive wired keyboard/mouse/headset.

That was me before getting addicted to AA devices and rechargeable cells. I never have to charge them since i can bulk charge the batteries and just plug new one's in when the other dies. They are sometimes even cheaper than battery inbeded devices because no one else wants them, its so cool.

Honestly my main hangup is how insanely scuffed industry standard wireless connections protocols are, sure it's gotten better - but for keyboard and mouse I don't really mind having wired anyways and I like the simplicity of "it just works guarunteed", stuff like the newer Playstation controllers are the only thing that really benefits in my opinion.

Fruit is having the same problem RTGame had, you have to use the Nintendo branded cable that came with the controller or it won’t charge. It’s a racket, you’d think since they went with usb-c you’d be able to use whatever cable.

I too, enjoy using wired controllers more. Same goes for headphones, mouse, keyboard. Wireless speakers are a different story however, they've never caused me trouble before

I was a little sad when I saw the timestamp. I mean I was kinda spoiled by the pikmin 3 cut. The pacing also felt like a lot was going to be missed, so when the video ended it was quite a rollercoaster of emotions when going from "HOW CAN THAT BE IT!?" to "TWO MORE??! POG!" in like a second. good stuff

I mean the wiiu pro controller has like 100 hours of battery life or something insane so I would wager things could be more convenient. No gyro though which is a deal breaker for me. Splatoon has converted me into a believer and lord knows I will sing the praises of motion in shooters on controller. Also you would not believe how much I hear windows disconnect windows connect sound when playing with my king kong 2. Cable is not reliable for me.

I think Grayfruit just has bad luck with controllers, they seem to cause trouble for him no matter what he does. He has complained many times about the exact thing you mentioned where the controller rappidly connects and disconnects but he also says that they have caused trouble for him whenever he has tried using them wirelesly.
