Pikmin Hacking - What happens if you get Olimar Down in day 1?

I have several questions. 1. Olimar has somehow managed to launch the dolphin, but how? 2. Dark Onion launching into the air, but why? 3. It's still morning in the end of day cutscene, so why? Just why?

I love how at the start of the next day it just looks like the ship smashed nose first into the planet again, i guess even Olimar's willpower has its limits

Talk about having a bad first day lol

It's sad to know that almost everything is spawned in the first day, but there's still no way to get both pieces in day 1. I think even if you somehow got the Positron Generator before the engine, the game would still default to the engine and end the day for you, considering that when you approached the generator it still played the cut scene for the engine. If you could somehow figure it out without hacking, speed runners would be begging you for your secrets.

Huh, cool stuff! I didn't expect the game to always assume reds are discovered, and it's even weirder that the Pikmin can't carry stuff to the Onion until you approach it. I wonder if anything strange happens if you get bad ending before discovering the red Onion... Also, it is possible to get a Pikmin Extinction on day 1 in regular gameplay, there's a video of it titled: Pikmin - Main Engine on Day 2

I found a weird glitch where if you stand nearby the pellet posy near the bulborbs guarding the Nova Blaster you fall out the world and Olimar walks to a black void. I have found no videos about this so I "MIGHT" be the first one. I dont have the gamecube version so its 80% possible its a wii exclusive

I have somehow managed to launch the Dolphin, even though it lacks its fucking engine.

i guess a lot of the games events are dissociated with each other. even the onion path finding assumed the route was clear (because there world never be a situation where its not,) but it changed scripts when it got closer it seems. also the fact that the onion is always checking if youve found it or not. even though the end of the first day.

Interesting how the first part to be "discovered" is automatically assumed to be the engine despite only approaching the PG

this game has such a stroke because of one skip, it's actually amazing how much is tied to day 1 being completed normally

I didnt know this was recent im suprised for a old game

Everyone talking about the spaceship and onion launching and no one talking about how the end of day screen shows your red pikmin count incrrasing despite having 0 pikmin

I'm surprised that killing Olimar on day one does make the game do A LOT of unintended stuff. First, how comes "Olimar is down" if he walks a bit before re-entering the ship if in subsequent Pikmin games (most notably 3) they get teleported on their ship and do the Luigi aka absolutely nothing? Second I'm surprised that the game gives you plenty of warning (when the Olimar pie chart becomes yellow a constant warning noise starts whereas i thought the aforementioned happens on red pie chart) Third, how the Pikmin does the game recognize extinction if Olimar never met a Pikmin? Fourth, thank you for showing us what happens if there are still 30 parts to find on day 2. I'm looking forward to see if day 30 ends with Olimar down, NO Pikmin and NO parts but i doubt 0000 would be in bottom right on day 30 then i wish we can see day 31+ on Pikmin 1 and, of course, no time limit on Pikmin 4 because I don't think people like games with time limits (people are more on the fool around side now)

Is there a code that allows non-Blues to enter water? I'd love to see a similar video that shows what happens if the Positron Generator is collected before the Main Engine.

Commented something like this on a Pikmin Extinction on day 1 video, but It's kinda crazy to see the Dolphin lift up during the day, kinda like the credits video.

Yea... If the red pikmin has no onion, and you try to carry something the pikmin will keep spining acting like theres no route to the onion. In pikmin 2 however, the game crashes if you try to carry something with no onion.

But olimar didn't get the motor? How did he get into the air?

Huh, I wonder if the hitbox for the onion is always the same and it's just a question of walking into the light. Probably not and it's just similarly sized but it's funny that it remembered you needed to activate the already-standing Onion on day 2. I guess that trigger is just a map position and not the literal onion hitbox, actually. Honestly if i'd known the clam was that easy to punch to death i'd probably just do that rather than playing chicken with blues. I'm also surprised the game returns the ship to it's initial crashed state on day 2, but I guess that's just "parts = zero" even though all of the visible parts are modular in the main model, including the engine funny enough (since randomizer isn't just doomed if they start with a non-engine part)
