@@brucea9871 Not sarcasm, just funny. I wanna see a remake of "Titanic". The vessel misses the iceberg and arrives safely in New York. Or a remake of "Jaws" where the shark eats the cop at the end. Or "Downfall" where Hitler shaves his moustache and escapes to Argentina.
The sad thing is, you couldn't make a film like this now. The entire woke nation would stop it dead in it's tracks with a lot of screaming, wailing and gnashing of teeth.
@Peter Green. It's basically another word for a snowflake, or someone who goes out of their way to be offended by everything that's not totally politically correct. Basically they woke up to all the injustices in the world. Fucking wankers is the term I use.
The real sad thing is I used to be able to watch these clips without some dpsht bringing politics into it. There's no need to make a film like this now - it's perfect. Not everything has to be in its own cinematic universe with a million sequels and reboots.
😂😂😂If only all Roman films had someone who stuttered or couldn’t pronounce the letters... sheer genius... how Michael Palin kept a straight face is a work of a master.... this idea was copied in Only Fools and Horses to perfection... British comedy at its best..
Mzu5000 Mzu ... 🤔... I misunderstood it the first time... now I get it.. I’m a bit slow you see😆.... however, if only women could stutter...most women cannot act in a straight role let alone one where they would have to stutter for the whole time... and don’t blame the directors... it’s even worse in Bollywood movies..😂😂😂
Life of Brian is Monty Pythons best movie. It's very funny. Hilarious. Movies like this are not made anymore. With the world being in the state it is we need a good laugh.
If it was released today, the left would be outraged at the "ableism" of making fun of speech impediments, and the right would be outraged at the jokes at the expense of the bible. The latter happened back then too, of course, but at least there was no internet to foment outrage on.
@@CaptainFalcoyd Python used a lot of the outdoor sets when filming Life of Brian. For example when Brian is facing the crowd about to be sentenced to crucifixion the same set was used for the scene where Robert Powell as Jesus was due to be sentenced to death.
I think I can remember, John Cleese on tv, defending the movie, in front of a couple of offended Bishops. “The entity that invented the Willy, must have a sense of humour”
The spoof of that interview with Rowan Atkinson was also a work of genius. "We are basically a Python worshipping country." Talk about getting broken up in laughter!!
I've just been given the role of Pilate in a reading of the Passion tomorrow; it's going to be very hard to get this out of my head and not lose it in public!! I know I'm going to stwuggle with any lines that have the letter 'R' in them......!
My weading went ok, I was told I made my wole scawy and vewy authowative, which wasn't a bad weview, I was weally quite welieved afterwards! With a bit of luck next year they might even let me wecite Biggus Dickus's wole as well! 🤣

I used to unload trucks. I knew two different drivers with two different distinct speech impediments. When they met for the first time, I tried to eavesdrop. It was quite comical.
It was a film that mocked the fanaticism of religious dogma but many Christians (and Jews who felt the depiction of their ancestors was also offensive especially the stoning scene) were offended especially with the crucifixion scene and also when one character asks Brian's mother if she is virgin. It's ironic that if the film was made today, such offence to Christians would be welcomed in Hollywood circles but outrage would be aimed at scenes like this one where disabled groups would now be calling out the mocking of people with speech impediments and the trans cult lobbyists at the mocking of the man who wants to be a woman. ( 'From now on I want to be called Loretta' - the writers could not have realised how prophetic they were!). Still one of the funniest movies ever made but sadly I doubt we will ever see one of its ilk again as anything deemed as offensive is censored.
@@Koza6969 I was a Christian at the time when the film was released and it caused much controversy. I, personally, thought it was very funny and brilliant satire but could understand why some devout Catholics especially could be offended. Believe it or not my local council in the U.K. banned it from local cinemas and I wrote to my Member of Parliament to complain about this outrageous censorship. The song ‘Always look on the bright side of life’ has become a perennial favourite as a farewell song at funerals, albeit non religious or secular services. I never thought we would ever get to a stage that people would be offended by the ‘Loretta’ scene though.
@@TheWelwyn21 Julian Assange. The Australian Political Prisoner held in the UK jail at the behest of the Americans. Disgusting. He's innocent and only told the truth. Free Assange.
the famous debate between palin and cleese and muggeridge and an extremeley pissed bishop involved them being castigated quite wrongly for spoofing the sermon on the mount one of the most divine utterances according to muggeridge.palin replied sensibly that wasnt the intention instead it was thinking what if the people at the back cant hear?i cant comment on muggeridges view but then neither can he as neither of us were there and the text was written hundreds of years after the event.but i do know of another great historical speech which was reported on as it happened which worked out like pythons sermon.when lincoln made the getteysburg address reporters of the time noted lincoln muttered a few word to the front row then left! very few heard what he said it was very unmemorable! in fact the speeches fame resonated when it was printed in the newspapers no one who was there thought hed said anything special!
##### TIME HAS RUN OUT !! John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Don't ignore this message... REPENT NOW !! TRUST that God raised Him from the dead !! By FAITH accept JESUS's blood alone as payment for your sins unto Salvation, to escape what's about to happen !!
in terms of 2000 years later, we have the same political circus as the Romans did but we have a way bigger court (political parties etc). same relationship though, between Ruler Clown and the eaters
I'm surprised that DeSantis hasn't banned it in Florida yet. Or made it a felony to watch it. In Texas, the governor would have your neighbors rat you out of you were caught watching it. In other red states, they'd have movie burning parties. 🔥
There was an instance quite recently where they demanded one of their old skits needed to be touched up before being broadcast. Cleese told the snowflakes to get stuffed.
They weren't making fun of God, they were making fun of certain types of people who follow religions. They had the sermon on the mount, and Jesus saying what he said as reported in most Bibles in the film. What they were making fun of is people who misunderstand aspects of religion.
