Dear Rachel, Wishing you the best of holidays and a happy healthy New Year. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us. You are my inspiration and my sensei as a go along this Pilates instruction journey.
Hello Racheal. Hope you and the rest of the followers are doing well. Could you please make a standing and sitting video for osteoarthritis. I have problems in my shoulders, knees and especially my lower back. I also lost alot of weight. So I need to tone my body and build muscle. I'm afraid of doing just any exercise in the event that I may damage my joints further. All physiotherapists seems to recommend the bridge exercise but it hurts my back .Can I do twisting exercises with osteoarthritis in my back . Core and glute exercises while standing or sitting will be highly appreciated .I feel like my glutes drag me down and puts pressure on my back.I thank you and I'll keep on supporting you. To all you guys out there. I no it's painful. But don't only execise once a day.and just sit or lay the rest of the day.Move or stretch throughout the day to loosen those joints. You are all in my preys. ❤❤
Thank you Rachel. This is just what I need as I have very achy muscles first thing in the morning. Mobility is the key. Happy New Year to you, Kerwin and Boo!
Thank you so much for this, it is so beneficial! I have been doing it everyday in the morning and is the perfect start to my day. Love your channel, you are such a positive influence. Merry Christmas!
Hi Rachel. I used to do a lot of Pilates but have become increasingly stiff with osteoarthritis- I can no longer get down onto the floor and getting back up is a real pantomime… After years with varying degrees of pain with oa in my knees, I have now suddenly developed it very painfully in my left hip. Should I start with the standing and sitting exercises and hope I can become more mobile or is there anything else I can try? I am determined to get back my mobility and control the pain without the need for codeine( I can’t take anti-inflammatories.) Thanks for any advice Alison Turner
Hello Alison, sorry to hear yor OA has made it impossible for you tp get down on the floor. With the pain you are having in your hip and knees I would mix between the gentle standing sessions and the sessions in a chair. If you can do the standing work, if it doesn't feel right then do a chair workout instead. What is important is that you don't lose strength in your muscles by not moving so do what you can. With your determination and expereince of pilates I am sure you will get to a better place in your mobility and a reduction in your pain. The key with OA is little and often. you might like to try my gentle ballet class too? Here's the link for you: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dZnTymzsrVU.html 🤗
