The ultimate bearing capacity of a pile is the maximum load which it can carry without failure
or excessive settlement of the ground. The allowable load on a pile is the load which can be
imposed upon it with an adequate margin of safety; it may be the ultimate load divided by a
suitable factor of safety, or the load at which the settlement reaches the allowable value.
The bearing capacity of a pile depends primarily on the type of soil through which and/
or on which it rests, and on the method of installation. It also depends upon the cross-section
and length of the pile.
The pile shaft is a structural column that is fixed at the point and usually restrained at
the top. The elastic stability of piles, or their resistance against buckling, has been investigated

Excuse me sir , can you show me a little bit about , fs=73.81kN/m^2 or fs = 98.41kN/m^2 , I'm not sure , how can I choose one to calculate sir ?if I see you calculate on f=f1+f2 = 73.81 kn/m^2 . And you write on fs to show (Qu) , you write fs = 98.41 kn/m^2 . Can you show me a little bit , I didn't understand this here sir. Thanks sir ❤

If the top of the pile is below 1m from ground level then from which should I calculate Lc's value. I mean Lc is from ground level or from top of the pile? TIA

there is some correction i think so bcoz value are different for F1 and F2 then the surface area will also be different for both as the F1 is limited to critical depth and F2 will be acting for the remaining length of pile

Determination of ultimate load bearing capacity of pile was not correct. It should be as below: Qult= Qp + Qs Qult = 108×48×0.125 + 24.60×3.14×0.40×6.0 + 49.21×3.14×0.40×6.0 Qult = 1204.2316 KN Qs = 1204.2316/2 Qs = 602.11 KN

also got Qu=1209,589

you made a mistake by considering the skin friction as the summation of f1 plus f2. each one should be multiplied by 6. you multiplied the summation by 12m length of pile .
@varshababu2886
@varshababu2886 7 месяцев назад
does f2 should multiplied by 9.0, the remaining depth?
