I have said it before .. I have a sub-compact Massey Ferguson about the same size as Johnny and it always amazes me what these tractors can do. If anyone thinks they aren't able to work and get a lot done, well I hope they watch your channel. Great work and a terrific amount of work done by these little beasts!!!
That 1025r is a work horse! I'm so impressed. Seriously considering the 1025r. We get a lot of snow and handling split firewood would take in e a load off my back.
I really like watching you use your tractor doing hard work and some abuse, it shows me that these tractors are made to work and work hard , it really makes me feel like I bought the right tractor for my property and that these things are small in size but are tough and can get the job done ! Thanks
Hi Time, While a cab with AC would be nice, for all you do, a sun shade is what you need. While I haven't specifically looked at them for a 1025R, I'm sure there are several out there that really help with being out in the sun, and there cost should be reasonable that the finance committee would be happy to approve it.
I LOVE WATCHING U DO UR THING . I HAVE A NEW HOLLAND BABY 24 HP TRACTOR , IM A CITY BOY DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT TRACTORS, U MADE ME REALIZE WHAT I CAN DO WITH A TRACTOR. BECOAUSE OF U I BOUGHT A TOOTH BAR FANTASTIC TKS TIM.
Love it. It's a perfect base model for the budget sensitive buyers. Everything you need and correct me if im wrong but heard Ember has good build quality. Probably be able to talk a dealer into tossing in a battery. Two if you're good! Can't really ask for much other than a trifold. Everything else at this price point is nice!
Haven't read through all these comments and don't know if you'll see this given the video is a year old, but you could put your grapple and/or other implements in the bed of the truck and take it out with the chain as you did with the tiller. I've done that myself many times. Have a BX25 and use to have many implements. Mostly I cut and removed firewood for free from peoples yards as I used it to heat my house. Still have the Landpride grapple and love using it. Also, I've done some landscaping jobs preparing areas for seeding and would use a York rake and box blade. Would be a lot quicker and less stress on the tractor than tilling everything as you do. Different strokes for different folks.
Hi Tim we used to contact the fire dept and get some pieces of old fire hose cut into about 12 inch lengths works great and if not free its very cheep keep up the great vids Paul
My .02 for a bigger trailer, as I've said before I have a 25 (20+5 dovetail) gooseneck and an 18 foot bumper pull. I typically use my gooseneck for everything unless the customer's driveway won't allow for it. That's the only reason I really keep the 18 footer. Great video as usual!
Another great show. Thanks. I think you have already found what you need to get next. If you had a hydro mower for Casey, then you would be able to safely mow ditches and around ponds. ...if you get a bigger trailer, you are still going to need to tow Johnny out from time to time, so consider getting a goose neck that will carry it all. You may find that you get lots of work just doing "safety mowing" where others (and you) wouldn't dare try using a tractor....Just a suggestion
Tim that is great to hear that you have approval to get a bigger trailer some gooseneck and bumper pull trailers have the prevision for a receiver hitch on the end so you can have the two trailers with one truck and the advantage to a cab is starting to be more tempting
Tim, Kubota sells a “cool top” with a large fan. It really makes a difference down here in the HOT Alabama summers! Check it out! Your friends at the green paint store may have something similar!
You mighr like this one: Ride along with Tim's dad. Corn Harvest. John Deere 9770 STS Combine, 8335R Tractorru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-17xraYmrFBQ.html
I think you should get a cab you have johnny that doesn't have a cab to use I think the cab would be very handy in the winter as well as in the summer. Tim get you a dust mask Please I have my guys wear them when we are doing work that creates a lot of dust I also have hearing protection for them but not all of them will wear it They all do wear safety glasses so that is good. You and johnny did an outstanding job on this property the customer should of been delighted when you left. I used to be good friends with a guy that lives in Greenfield I knew him when i raced remote controlled boats He worked for the Greenfield bank I think he was an director or officer or something like that. I want you to know you guys are just wonderful people and I'M sure you are a blessing to all the people you meet and do work for. I know how it is with needing a bigger trailer I started out with a 16ft then out grew that now I have a 18ft 72" wide but now there are a lot of times we need a 20ft LOL it seems they are never big enough LOL Thanks for sharing as always. Hope you guys have a wonderful week. God Bless!!!
I'm with you about the cab. While it would be really nice to have an air conditioned cab, the type of work I do requires getting on and off the tractor quite a bit. I also have a backhoe, so having a cab tractor would make the backhoe frame much longer. It's just better for how I use the tractor to not have a cab. I'm also with you in not having a long enough trailer. I enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for putting in the effort.
instead of a cab on the tractor you can get hard fiberglass canopies that bolt onto the antiroll bar, makes a big difference on sunny days, also you get some slight protection when it rains as long as its not windy, i have seen canopies that you can clip curtain like clear pvc sheets onto that can go on and off real quick, you can also roll them up.
For the time being I would deff get a shade cover. I believe you can still fold your ROPS with one installed but don't quote me on that. We just retired a 4200 John Deere and it had a cover didn't help much with rain or cold but it helped keep the sun off ya. We replaced the 4200 with a 5060 Kabota and first purchase I made was a shade cover. Honestly for the little guy I would just keep it as it is and add the cover. Maybe your next purchase could be a enclosed cab and keep that your dedicated tilling, dusty guy even bush hogging I'd use the enclosed cab. I ran a enclosed Bobcat with a bush hog on the front and I was good to go. I ran a open cab Bobcat with same bush hog and my face swelled up twice the normal size I can only assume allergies to the grasses I was cutting. Never again. I'll only bush hog in a closed cab. For the ditch work I'd look into getting a arm mower like the Alamo Machete keeps you safe when working around drop offs and designed for that type of mowing.
Love the video Time And Chrissy the end video we saw it befoere .did'nt like the backup mower was scare tim would fell in the Creek .God Bless you and your big Families on the farm too .
Milwaukee Polka playing. Yea have power tiller and bolt on hooks. I do back in mowing around trees and trying to keep the growth down. Getting tougher every year. Getting older and more weeds so it seems. My creek is way back in the trees. It is like a right angle bank trench. 6' deep and over flows to 3' on the tree trunks when it pours from a TS or hurricane. It takes a lot of water off the highway and several wide open lands. I have 7 acres - 4 under grass and trees. Cutting back on them - tough summers and low water.
We need to get Tim a small payloader. The tooth bar works good. I haven't used it to much yet but it does hook things that you couldn't get otherwise. It's handy
I know you guys have been debating a cab but what about a compromise (if it is available) and just have a canopy or roof that would provide shade while in the sun. Wouldn't help with the dust bowls, but would help with sun. Then you could also use something clear, like plexiglass to make front, back, and door enclosure that would attack to the frame of the canopy for winter work to be a wind block an still be able to see. I don't know if there is even an option for Johnny to have a canopy from JD. Just a thought.
I just put a Curtis Cab with heat on my Yanmar/Cub SC2450. Best accessory ever! Next year it is gettin AC! They extremely well built with great features. On paper it sounded good IRL it it fantastic.
Nice video guys. The yard looked great. When I landscaped I would put attachments in the bed of the truck. It seemed to help the truck and trailer ride a bit better. Having some weight in the bed of the truck also helps with braking distances. Just a few thoughts with that bigger heavier duty truck.
One thing you might want to look into is headsets that work with gopros. I have seen them both with motorcycles and airplanes, and will allow you to edit in the sound and still talk to each other, if you decided to get a cab.
How about a sun shade for Johnny instead of a cab. I think a bigger trailer is the way to go especially if you can have Casey with you. As always fun to watch.
So a new 5th wheel trailer. Nice. You could have carried the grapple in the truck. Lots of work for such a hot day. I can almost see the cheese burgers melting away.
As far as a Cab goes............research ones that are "easily" detachable and with an overhead pulley system you could install/uninstall it at your leisure, as you/your jobs dictate. I have a JD X360 with a soft cab by Original Tractor Cab, and unfortunately have to keep it on in the summer as well as the winter. But.....I do take the doors off in Summer, and it is not bad at all.........................Just an Idea for you to Ponder..........LOL
Tim could you get one of them cloth umbrellas that places like Tractor supply sells for larger farm tractors, and modify it to fit Johnny ? It would at least provide some shade on the tractor and it could fold down with the Rops.
Tim your about to convince me I need a 1025r. I wish you were closer to Evansville I have the perfect project for Johnny. It’s in a backyard in town that’s a little to small to get my 4020 into. I like your point of how to lift implements with the bucket. I’m glad I don’t use more 3pt equipment or else I’d really want to set everything up for the quick hitch
My comments? Put racks on the trailer to haul attachments. Use the chain to strap to those unruly logs. Use the bed of your truck to haul attachments. Get a cab. Should I keep going?
Tractor Time with Tim - the tiller could have been put in the back of the truck or the grapple! A lot of people forget that the truck bed is available for hauling just as the trailer!
would have to hook/unhook from trailer for each load/unload of attachment in truck. Too much pain. Our tractor cannot lift high enough to load attachments over the side.
Nice video and I don't blame you about not putting an attachment in the bed of your new truck. Did I have dejavu though? The scene where Johnny was stuck looked similar to a clip in another video.
Tim, if you don't have 2" of space between tractor PTO & tiller shaft. There is a high chance of damage to the PTO shaft on Johnny. Everything Attachments has a video on cutting a PTO drive shaft,
I had my disc, brush hog, cultipacker, rototiller, and tractor with the forks on. It was a tight fit this past weekend!! Any reason to not put the grapple or another attachment it the bed of your truck?
Great stuff. I laughed so hard as the finance committee gave approval on a trailer just as a log was dropped on the tractor. That was a close one hahaha
try getting one of those stainless steel fans that school bus drivers use. something is better than nothing and if you have 2 of them you might be able to keep some stuff from getting in your face. great videos!!!!
REPOSTED a lot of people say the 1025r is a week machine and well times i can agree but we had one and we had a drag brush on the three point and a snow plow on the front for pushing up dairy feed in the 300 cow robotic free stall barn and we had a mower on it it did good for all that its great for mowing 10 acres but for loader work we had a skid loader and a 6430r with a loader
We use decommissioned fire hose to protect straps and chains. Once it’s past it’s service life they usually throw it out. Just ask your local fire department
One could drill a hole in the center of the cutting edge to install a trailer ball. If this is done, drill it to close tolerance. Put the ball on and just hang a strap, rope, chain, whatever. Can move trailer around easily too.
With every new video that you post, it comes clearer and clearer that you need a bigger, better tractor. I say you bite the bullet and get the Kioti CK3510H
Yeah my Johnny wouldn't have had a problem with that honey locust. I have those filled tires on my tractor. I also now have what you could call studded snow tires on it. Simply because of all the nails that are in my tires. I have an old house with an old storm cellar that still in that I have been slowly cleaning up for the last 2 years. Therefore I've been picking up Nails left and right. It is definitely paid for me feeling those tires and when they're wore out all I have to do is cut them off and put new ones on. Branded it is a little rougher of a ride and it makes the tractor weigh about 200 lb more.
I wish they would incorporate shock strap technology too. Definitely a 3046R with a cab would have been nice. But some of the things ya'll have to get close to may bust a cab window out tho
Look into a gooseneck trailer. PJ, LoadTrail, Big Tex, might be a bit better for weight capacity and length options. As well as options like winch, or deck over gooseneck.
Are those hooks made by Michael Bolton? Hahaha!! Joking aside, those would be very handy. I use my bucket for lifting and usually use straps but that would make using chains much easier.
need a sun shade that attached to the roll bar. I seen one the other day that could be taken off if needed. It was on a Kubota but I'm pretty sure it is universal.
I noticed you had a King Kutter RotoTiller. King Kutter is a quality brand. I can't find it here in W.V. I just like how everything they make is heavy duty. They have been around a while too. Another brand I like is WOODS. Their products are heavy duty too.
Welcome to our channel. We have LOTS of videos of our tiller, and one video where we go through different tiller features to help you decide which features you need.
something you could look into is build a rack that you could put a loader bucket on yet get far enough under it that you would not stick off the end of the trailer i have seen this done many times with no trouble
