It's pressure the pleasures measure The pressure is overbearing Is it me myself that's caring For every double-minded joy And I admit that when I submit to you I feel so unreal when I'm still When I'm waiting for you to reveal And from myself I seem so far away And I admit that when I submit to you I can see all of the selfish things I do [Chorus] I'm further, further from myself When I'm next to you When I run to you I was wasted embraced it but faced it With you inside my heart you replaced it Can't believe you have erased it Selfishness and foolish pride And I admit that when I submit to you I can see all of the selfish things I do Further from my future Further from the past Further from the starting line Further from the last Further from my doubts Further from my fears Further from temptation that I faced throughout my years Further from agitation Further from distraction The reaction of the dissatisfaction of others actions Further from myself Further from my flesh Further from my birth and I'm Further from my death
this song touches me. it is so beautiful, deep, and thoughtful. when I choose to be close to Jesus I feel more fulfilled in my soul, since He knows everything that I need there is no reason to look in any other way than to Jesus.
Further from my future Further from the past Further from the starting line Further from the last Further from my doubts Further from my fears Further from temptation that I faced throughout my years Further from agitation Further from distraction The reaction of the dissatisfaction of others actions Further from myself Further from my flesh Further from my birth and I'm Further from my death
I started listening to Pillar when I was about 7 or 8. My brother and I would just sit and watch the Wow DVD over and over and over and over again. This was and is my favorite song. I could never find it until now and I won't shut it of. When I was little my brother went to Creation Fest and came home with Pillar drum sticks. I was the most excited 9 year old in the world.
When I hear this song I'm letting go and trusting in my loving father because of Jesus I can have a relationship with my heavenly Father because I am his child ❤❤❤ holy spirit guide me to draw near to God
"When I submit to you I can see all of the selfish things I do". Ain't that the truth. There have been so many times when I have turned away from God because of that but the trick is to keep going and get through that painful birth process and into the next level because that's where it's at. God will instruct us and guide us along the way and pour himself into those broken areas until we make it. Just have faith. And affirm that you are going to make it where God wants you to be. Just stay submitted And when you fail, get back up and keep going, take a hold of that sweet Grace.

Every time I hear this song I can’t help singing it at the top of my lungs! (When I am alone that is.) Your music has always been very encouraging! Keep up the good work!
this song is so beautiful. even though it's about God, you could put it into a relationship standpoint. they're so versatile in their music. i love that they do different things with their music and aren't afraid to experiment. i love them :)
I saw Pillar back in 02 when they first dropped Fireproof (first lp) Seeing them live and play this song it was awesome and you felt God all around. If you can see them live, go for it they are really good live.
God does control what man does, to an extent. Your freewill is bound to that which you serve: Christ or sin. If you are saved, you are chastened by the Father, convicted and driven from sin. If you are not saved, you don't have a clue what this means. Christ is King!!!
Pillar is the one band that i wish would put more music out. Im not sure if this channel is still moderated but i believe what you guys had going was something special. God bless all of you.
Aunque no sea evangélico practicante estas canciones y estilo de música y letra me llenan el Alma y amar más a Dios que bonito cuando no hay religiones ni mandamientos de hombres interfiriendo en la relación con Dios.
I remember having their audio cd. It had the music video for this in some sort of format. Probably mp4. Great band. Great song. Wish they were bigger. I'm not really christian today but the lessons that I've learned through the religion and music do stay with me. These guys, GS Megaphone, As Cities Burn, Spoken, The O.C Supertones, Pax 217, and Justifide were definitely in my rotation during this period. Keep rocking on guys!
