A Boeing cargo plane has been forced to land at Istanbul airport without its front landing gear, in the latest setback for the embattled planemaker.

Nobody was hurt in the incident, in a flight operated by the delivery company FedEx, according to Turkey’s transport ministry. The Boeing 767 aircraft, flying from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport on Wednesday, informed the traffic control tower at Istanbul airport that its landing gear had failed to open and it landed with guidance from the tower, the ministry said. Emergency services were standing by for the landing. The ministry did not give a reason for the landing gear’s failure and said its teams were conducting examinations at the scene as part of an investigation.

@beatpeace879 The plane involve, N110FE, is a cargo plane so I find it quite unlikely that it would have 73 passengers. What's your source?

I wouldn't get a Spirit Airlines flight right now either. They do a brisk trade in subcontracting empty seats on planes.

Boeing has some bad planes … wth are they even still in business. Quick Question- How do you know if you’re on a Boeing plane … cause l need to know for the future.

Mate this was a hydraulic problem, don't be worrying what you fly on, this type of mechanical failure can happen to any aircraft. Flying is still the safest form of transport 👍

Fly Spirit if you are that scared of flying on a Boeing plane

I believe, when you book your flight, somewhere in the details of the flight, the type of aircraft used for that particular flight will be stated in the details.

I would say that this was a great landing, which just proves the skills of these pilots. (Though, I wouldn't want to experience this type of landing...)
