sorry. just saw your comment. In engineering, the term "solenoid " refer to a variety of transducer devices that convert energy into linear motion. In phisycs the coil is the solenoid. so; the solenoid in our valve will be the inside part of the electric coil changing the electric field into motion causing the plunger to move up and down.
