He was on TWO SEASONS of this show and still didn't seem to grasp the point. 😂 I almost feel bad for him, he seemed genuinely obtuse rather than malicious.
Yesss he has "let's see where it goes", doesn't want labels vibes and these girls literally signed up for a show where you essentially win a lifetime commitment to the series lead.
I feel so bad. Obviously her actions spurred some of that on. But being called a pill popper for prescription Adderall is just cruel and gross. She likely has ADHD which makes this show even more disregulating than for neurotypical contestants. Also being labeled a drunk for drinking on the show that is known for shoving drinks at you 24/7, is dumb. All around I'm glad she realized her faults, fought back against the addiction rumors, and is doing well
@@lizzyblitz07 100% also this all comes from people she was supposed to live with for a period of time. Everytime Peter wouldn't be here she'd have to deal with how she couldn't trust anyone in the house and knowing she'd be judged for every single action that she'd take. Which is even more stressfull considering she knows there's cameras on her all the time, and she could be badly edited at any moments and judged to hell and back by everyone at home AS WELL. It's such a terrifying scenario.
The funniest thing about the champagne drama to me is that I used to work at Bevmo so I immediately recognized the bottle as a mediocre $25 prosecco that was always on a bogo sale, which just feels like the ultimate insult to injury
My favorite tidbit of Pilot Pete lore is that he and his mom were roommates with Victoria Justice and her mom when he was a child actor. So much of his relationship with his mom makes sense when you realize that she was his momanager during his failed child actor era. I think Victoria Justice said that Pete and his mom shared a room when they all lived together?
To add more mess to this whole thing; Chase Rice isn’t any old random country singer. He’s Survivor: Nicaragua runner-up turned successful country singer Chase Rice.
You know what kills me about the whole Vicky F and Chase Rice thing? Peter's literal own ex, Hannah Brown, was there like two episodes ago. It's basically the same thing. They could have just laughed and it was SOOOOOO dramatic for nothing. Love it sm.
These recreations to get around copyright violations. The amount of outfit changes and acting skills. The “DONT LET HER GOOOOOO” and the finger mustache for the father. Give THIS woman an EGOT fr fr
I was like 14 when i watched peters season and lemme tell you, as an alayah defender i was fighting for my life on bachelor nation twitter, i was in the TRENCHES
but alayah had some cosmic force on her side cause her karma was immaculate, day after peter dumped her he got a concussion, then all of her opps were eliminated in QUICK succession, and even after her elimination they still had her names on the tip of their tongues
Can I just say if I had quit my job to go on this show, and I was exhausted, and stressed, and tipsy/drunk, the champagne thing would have ABSOLUTELY devastated me. That is the kind of shit that breaks me. I stand with Kelsey.
'Don't let her go. Bring her home to us' croaked the old queen, sending her son out so fetch the young maiden in order to make her the next family meal.
Ok tea: I'm South African and we got our first Bachelor in 2019. The engagement flopped immediately. Later, I matched with the guy on Tinder, but just laughed it off assuming it was a catfish. Next thing I get a DM and follow request from his verified Instagram profile. So we chatted over WhatsApp for like a week. He quickly became super forward, offering to fly me to Cape Town where he lived, asking if he can fly to my hometown, and STAY WITH ME. I was so weirded out that I ghosted him. Then roughly a year ago, the news reported he was homeless, and eventually taken to rehab. Smh
Girl, I’m South African too. 💁♀️We had a WhatsApp group devoted to cringing at the whole thing while it was on air lol. Qiniso was the only person who didn’t make me squirm in all the seasons. Anyway, so nuts this happened to you. Shame, the whole homeless thing is pretty dark. I hope he’s back on track.
Girl, agreed! I didn't end up watching the Bachelorette, but Qiniso seemed like a sweetie. And absolutely, all cringe aside, I hope Lee is doing better now.@@h3art_3y3s
I'm really glad you called out the difference between Luke and Maddie's requests. I remember people making the comparison when it aired but it wasn't the same at all! Both are doomed for failure but Maddie just said "Hey, I like where we're headed but this is my boundary if I'm going to keep going" whereas Luke spent the entire season being really difficult to deal with and then acted like she was a horrible person if she didn't follow his rule. There's a difference between "This is just how I feel" and "I have decided you will be my wife so you must follow all my rules"
not sure if anyone else has seen but Maddie actually went on a podcast and explained that she didn't even sign up for the bachelor, her friends signed her up after she had a rough break up to get her back into dating, and even then she wasn't truly set on the idea but gave it a try after discussing with her family. and with her not giving Peter straight answers or explanations, i imagine she also had a hard time figuring out what she could or couldn't say on the spot whenever they're filming because she's scared the editors will take her words out of context or even frame her in a way that was negative to the audience, especially being the "abstaining christian girl" 🥲🥲
I’m listening to this at the office and I’m sitting here shaking trying not to laugh at McKenna’s boss babe speech. I have tears falling down my face. She was EVERYTHING
This season was the most off the leash the producers have gotten, and i honestly think it’s bc Peter is just a people pleaser who didnt know what he wanted. He let them and these girls walk all over him 😭
Me too! I wonder if she just lacks self-awareness or she thinks she's giving tough love but going around saying someone is a pill popper and drinking their sorrows away is NOT nice lol
@@-Desire i agree, i was wondering with all her drinking comments if she really thought she was coming at it from a place of kindness and caring about her, bc she did not have me fooled lol
Fun fact: the last social gathering I went to before the pandemic shut everything down was a finale party at a local event venue, and my roommate and I still blame Peter Weber for the events that followed.
I like to think that the moment they all yelled “no!” at Pete when he asked if they really slept in those clothes, they all had a moment of clarity that they had to choose to ignore to stay on 😂
Pete’s season was WILD!!! The way he panic proposed at the end 😭 the lifting up making out 😷 the way he wasn’t the same after hitting his head… THE FLIES
When you were talking about the gyroscope you said "it makes Victoria P..." and I really thought you were telling me that this woman peed her pants on national television on a DATING SHOW, no less
@@pixiestxNyomouf I think Ash said "it makes Victoria P- yes, there was more than one Victoria! Have a full blown meltdown" something like that. It's near the beginning of the video
You know how some people say the moon landing was faked? Faking a Bachelor trip to Ohio would be easier. After all, the moon is right there in the sky so it's clearly real, unlike Ohio which everyone knows doesn't actually exist in the first place. :P (In all seriousness, my condolences that you are stuck in Ohio. I'm trying to escape my own state for reasons, but at least it's a decent one for me to be trapped in for now.)
i found out literally over a year after my wedding that one of my guests was a contestant on the bachelor and i am so angry i did not know this while my wedding was actually happening
Speaking of EGOTs, how about reenacting all those scenes? It’s truly a talent to nail the stupidity of all those conversations without breaking character
Breaking: sometimes people behave differently in different situations. More at 11! In all seriousness, it drives me nuts when people obsess over whether people they don't know are "fake" or not, as if having a persona were inherently sinister and as if there weren't a massive gray area between "behaving the exact same way all the time with no filter" and "pretending to be someone you're not in order to trick people" (a gray area that most of our social interactions exist in, might I add). Whether it's code-switching, masking, customer service voice, or just not cursing in front of your boss, modifying the way you speak around different people is a ubiquitous experience! Even if you're neurotypical and have never been consciously aware of it (which I find hard to believe tbh, surely everyone has said something that provoked a negative reaction and noticed), you're still doing it, just more intuitively.
Haven’t watched the Bachelor(ette) franchise but I LOVE these recaps. I’m half way through this one and not surprised all of the WOC get cut off and pushed to the background with zero narrative.
why was sydney being wrong the hot take? i listened to your reenactment and was like, alayah did/said nothing wrong-she was just answering honestly and sydney's attacking her passive aggressively for no reason
Yeah, I honestly found this really difficult to watch as a former pageant girl. I was relentlessly bullied in high school for being "fake" and was friends with several girls who dealt with the same. The thing is, it's beaten into you by coaches and boards that you always have to be perfect, constantly smile, and be prepared for any question. Texas is the single most competitive state in the country, so I can't imagine the training she underwent and the pressure to be flawless she was under. I really feel for her because everything was stacked against her here.
I feel like Aleya (is that how it's spelt?) could be falling back on her pagentry background for the cameras. And Sydney is just projecting, it feels icky how they all gang up on her like they know her personally or don't do the same in different ways.
Yeah, like to me it was all so dumb and unnecessary. Like they are on a reality show with cameras on them 24/7. You are naturally going to act a little different
Do you like, work? Chase Rice? The singer we just saw Chase Rice? Excuse you, what? Hannah Ann is an angel on earth. Don’t let her go. Bring her home. When I tell you I quote ALL OF THIS at least once a day, I’m serious. The most frustrating season while it aired, but the gift that keeps on giving in hindsight. So chaotic the lord humbled us with miss r0n@
“He socializes, her parties.” Omg I can keep going. VF just being an overall menace to society, Saying Madi’s name while proposing to Hannah Ann, Barb at AFTR failing to succeed, Madi and Peter breaking up AFTER A DAY WHILE HE WAS WITH KELLEY, Peter and Kelley, Chaos.
oml i cannot bear the back n forth tattle tale routine 😭 its so excruciating and production always ensures the bad actors stay as long as possible, plus it snares otherwise likeable people into being annoying anti-villains
Im honestly pissed off at how the women treated Alayah while most likely knowing it would mess with peter considering what happened with Hannah and Luke like AYO?!?! I wanted to yell at them through the screen. Like yeah of course she has a slightly different voice on camera than off THATS WHAT SHE WAS TRAINED TO DO but that doesn't make her fake like what. Alayah was the only one I could stand. Victoria F was an annoying prick and so was victoria P
I'm kinda fascinated by what Peter is and isn't into because after everything that happened in champagnegate I would not be giving Kelsey a rose solely on the basis that nobody needs the drama of having her around
the disappointment i felt when kelsey said “it’s not about the champagne” and it didnt immediately clip to james kennedy going “it’s not about the pasta!” on vanderpump rules 💔
These bachelor/ette videos are an amazing way to enjoy the drama without watching any of it. I would actually watch videos about every single season from you
i have always maintained that the reason peter's season was so terrible is because he has no backbone and no convictions; having not returned to the season since it aired, it was gratifying to watch this video and see that proven right again and again and afuckinggain. he didnt know what to do without his mom around to make decisions for him
If I had a nickel for every time a bachelor contestant named Sydney had a problem with another woman in the house because of her differing personality and then confronted the lead about it, I'd have 2 nickels...which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
ashley i am a fine art student and i was re-re-watching ur other bachelor vid JUST today while painting and i was thinking i could do with another one of these. i cannot wait for all my dreams to come true. i wish for a million dollars
one thing about me is that when ashley norton posts, i’m always there. i’ve never watched or had an interest in the bachelor.. but when ashley makes a video on it, suddenly i’m the biggest bachelor fan
Your breakdown of Hannah B’s season has become a comfort video that I’ve watched about a billion times… you have no idea how I’m excited for this one 🤩🤩🤩
Not the fundie snark shoutout 😭 I have never watched the bachelor and you just gave me some much needed context for the veil abomination and the “looking satan in the eye” posts omg. One of us!
this was the first season of the bachelor i watched. i was in my senior year of college and my roommates and our significant others would gather around and play drinking games and watch the episodes. all before/during the pandemic so it kinda holds some value in my heart it’s wild. thank you for this recap omg please PLEASE do more!!
